Massachusetts Poll Shows GOP Governor Charlie Baker In Better Shape Than Democratic Senator Elizabet
Source: Decision Desk
Its early and hard to imagine that Senator Elizabeth Warren is any real danger of not being reelected next year but this is an interesting snapshot at the start of the Trump administration.
Over four years in office, Elizabeth Warren has staked her claim as the Senates liberal lion. And many Massachusetts voters like it 51 percent view her favorably.
But according to a new WBUR poll, only 44 percent think Warren deserves reelection. Forty-six percent think voters ought to give someone else a chance.
...snip...
On the other hand only 12% of voters think they should give someone else a chance over incumbent GOP Governor Charlie Baker.

I'm wondering if Warren is seen as too much of a "national" politician.

The polls weren't that bad nationally. Trump just got his votes exactly where he needed them and Hillary got her's where she already was winning.
Some of the state polls were way off though.

I call bs on this poll.

(43,155 posts)politically correct to say so
that in the view of the general non-political population as well as
of course Republicans, Democrats pushed LGBTQ issues way out in
front of themselves with the bathroom free-choice issue and were
also unfairly perceived by whites as not supporting law enforcement
at all with the racial incidents
And income inequality was poorly defined. We push $15 an hour, but
some saw it as an inflation threat, and there was little push for raising
taxes on the wealthy and redistributing it to the middle class, it was a
subtle policy bone but not a tangible program
I think these things now come home to roost with the politicians that pushed
them vocally in the campaign
Of course I could be all wet

"I'm wondering if Warren is seen as too much of a "national" politician..." Seems it's much less that and more an intolerance by Republicans for a name with (D) amended to it.
"When you look at Elizabeth Warren's favorables, only 12 percent of Republicans have a favorable view of her," Koczela said. "When you look at Baker, 60 percent of Democrats view him favorably. So he has bipartisan appeal where Elizabeth Warren really never has.

Multi-Million Dollar Campaign Targets Vulnerable Democrat Senators

ALEXANDRIA, Va. The Judicial Crisis Network (JCN) today announced plans for a national campaign to confirm President Trumps nominee to the Supreme Court. Coming off of its historic Let the People Decide victory in the Garland nomination battle, JCN will engage a comprehensive campaign of paid advertising, earned media, research, grassroots activity, and a coalition enterprise, all adding up to the most robust operation in the history of confirmation battles. JCN and its allies will focus on states where Senate Democrats are vulnerable in 2018, particularly those where Trump won by large margins. JCN spent more than $7 million in its Let the People Decide effort, and it expects to spend at least $10 million to confirm the next justice.
We are preparing to launch the most robust campaign for a Supreme Court nominee in history and we will force vulnerable Senators up for re-election in 2018 like Joe Donnelly and Claire McCaskill to decide between keeping their Senate seats or following Chuck Schumers liberal, obstructionist agenda, said Carrie Severino, Chief Counsel and Policy Director of the Judicial Crisis Network.
Any vulnerable Senator who signs up for Schumers obstructionist strategy will pay a heavy price in 2018. Exit polls showed that over one fifth of voters said the Supreme Court was a primary reason for their vote and of that large percentage of Americans, Trump won those voters by a resounding 57-40 margin. And he won some of those states by overwhelming margins. The President-elect clearly has a mandate when it comes to the Supreme Court and this effort will ensure that the will of the people prevails, Severino continued.
