Restaurant Manager Accused Of Calling Black College Basketball Player & His Classmates 'N***ers'

Source: Daily Mail

A group of black students was allegedly racially abused and told to leave a restaurant by its manager because 'Trump is president now'.

Ricky Lee Bugg Jr, who studies and plays basketball at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania, says he was eating with two friends at Just Wing It about 1:30am on Sunday when they were the victims of a shocking tirade.

'Then we went and sat up at the bar, which is right near the register, and that’s when this guy walked up – he had a beer in one hand and a stack of cash in the other.' That's when the alleged abuse started.

'I don't need you n***ers' money,' the manager raged, according to Bugg, before he walked to the back of the restaurant again.

This will come as NO surprise to anyone here on DU. The "restaurant" removed their Facebook page(wonder why). Their Yelp page will probably get cleaned up, but for now it's sort of blowing up.....and not in a good way of course. There's even a review there from a former employee, in 2016, describing the many wonderful(NOT) qualities of the owner and management there. It's quite enlightening given the recent event.

While bigoted attacks happen at all times, we'll probably see a lot more of it in the coming years.

... or will they keep squealing fairy tales about how they're all being beaten to death by "tolerant liberals?"

Hopefully, the owner of Just Wing It in Annville, Pennsylvania is looking for a new manager and finding a way to make the old manager pay for the cost of being closed for several days. Feel sorry for any staff that doesn't agree with the manager in question getting unplanned, certainly unpaid, time off,

I wouldn't be so sure that the manager and owner are not one and the same. Or that the owner does not share the same views as his manager. The article indicates that the cashier was also telling them to get out.

This business will never, and should never, survive this. I would think that if he was manager of 3 different locations, that he was vetted by the owner, assuming he is not also the owner. It's kind of hard to hide racist beliefs, so I can't imagine this individual hasn't spewed his racist beliefs before. The owner may make him the fall guy, but his stores are now damaged goods, and hopefully it destroys his life.

Of course it possible that the owner agrees with the manager. If the owner and manager were one and the same, the article would have all likelihood identified them as owner. It is rare to call the owner of a restaurant a server or buser, although they probably do those functions as well if they are not absentee assholes.
