'Hottest places in hell' reserved for those remaining neutral: Former US Ambassador unleashes on Trump

London: The former US Ambassador to Australia, Jeffrey Bleich, has issued an extraordinary statement attacking President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration and a passionate defence of refugees, warning that the "hottest places in hell" are reserved for those who "maintain neutrality" in times of "great moral crisis."

Mr Bleich is a close friend of former President Barack Obama who appointed him US Ambassador to Australia between 2009 and 2013.

Mr Bleich, now a chair of the J. William Fulbright Board, said he had never before issued a statement condemning the actions of the United States government.

But he said as an "American, patriot and human being" he had no choice but to speak out and said: "None of us should be silent."

hit squad after him. We are going back in time by at least 35 years. Another Constitutional Crisis has arisen, we need to camp out in front of the WH, TT, and the Congress.

Odd... seeing that nation-states are wholly imaginary as well (being predicated entirely on borders which exist nowhere but our own minds).

No doubt, you consider your own secular faith as inviolate and absolute though and will maintain the pretense that nations are physical realities-- existing independently of humanity, and thus holding it to an obviously lower standard than the standard you place on others.

Most certainly, you will surely turn this around.

We know this is bad.

We know something's wrong.

But I'm telling you-- what I'm most afraid of-- that to gather his power we're going to see something dreadful happen.

Why can't I shake this?

I don't know what or when...but he's going to want to stop the protests.

Anyone else feeling this?

It's not just a feeling for me, it's an analytical conclusion. All the signs point to a very large "terrorist" event coming very soon. Please prepare and stay safe.

Just my opinion, but I feel that the Bush admin. willfully ignored warnings at the very least, and did nothing to stop the 9/11 attacks. All in hopes they could finally get their looting war with Iraq making their personal fortunes along the way. And it didn't hurt that the door prize that comes with it is high approval ratings. Just what Donald craves.

It pushed Bushes approval numbers up into the 90s I believe. Its a Pavlovian response that I'm sure the Don and his advisors are well aware of. Americans are frightened easily and even a lot of Democrats will rally round the commander in chief when they feel uneasy. So I have no doubt that if a major terrorist attack does not occur on its own, it will either be encouraged and facilitated, or downright produced and directed by Bannon. And then it is war to end all wars.

And then everything he has done before this attack, all the executive orders, all the conflicting interest appointments, all the civil rights lost, all will be put aside as we glue ourselves to Fox and CNN to watch the shock and awe reality show starring the Greatest President in the History of the World take charge.
