Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson said on Sunday he will depose Trump administration officials to uncover what truly motivated President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration if the case he brought against it goes to trial.
Documents and emails authored by administration officials may contain evidence that the order was an unconstitutional attempt to ban Muslims from entering the United States, and Ferguson will use "every tool" at his disposal to bring those to light, he told ABC's "This Week."

You never know what will come out in depositions given under oath.

(6,361 posts)IIRC, it was John Dean who speculated about the existence of tapes. From then on they asked every witness. Butterfield was a jackpot.
And the guy who asked the question - none other than Fred Thompson of Law & Order (and Die Hard 2) fame. Fun actor - crapchit politician.

(15,286 posts)I can remember hurrying back to the dorm after class to tune in the hearings. Pretty much everyone was tuned in to them. This was back when there wasn't any cable, internet or social media, just the 3 major networks and PBS.

(22,801 posts)because they had had no opportunity for "discovery." They had to go on previous statements by Trump, Giuliani and others that they wanted a Muslim ban. Interviewing the players under oath, and searching their emails, will provide evidence that the order was unconstitutional. Bring it on!
