President Trumps freewheeling press White House press conference Thursday -- in which he announced his new labor secretary pick -- also included an awkward exchange on race, after a reporter asked him about his policies to improve inner cities.
You go to some of the inner city places and its so sad when you look at the crime, the president said. He went on to describe how people lock themselves into apartments petrified to even leave in the middle of the day in urban areas for fear of crime in the cities.
Journalist April Ryan, who serves as the White House correspondent and Washington bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, followed up: When you say the inner cities, are you going to include the CBC, Mr. President, in your conversations with your urban agenda?
When Mr. Trump seemed unfamiliar with the CBC acronym, Ryan, who is black, clarified: Are you going to include the Congressional Black Caucus --
The president interrupted: Well I would. Id tell you what -- do you want to set up the meeting?
Do you want to set up the meeting? the president pressed again. Are they friends of yours?

Just looked at the letter. Long, thoughtful paragraphs, lots of them, that 45 could never get through. Sad!
Btw, I used to be a real estate appraiser, and my work took me all over the socioeconomic spectrum of the Southern California sprawl, including many central city areas. People live there. Many are raising children and living their versions of the American dream right there.
Trump's a completely clueless idiot who betrays it with every word.
You will see a lot more bars on windows and scary dogs behind fences than the typical neighborhood, and I'm guessing doors are typically locked at night--except when families are out enjoying the beautiful evenings and children are their usual adorably noisy parapetic selves. But residents certainly do expect long response times when calling for public services because those neighborhoods are vastly underserved, unacceptably high crime rates accepted by the rest of the populace, and people often/sometimes always have to leave their neighborhoods to find such everyday things as supermarkets, drug stores, medical clinics, realtors, banks, and so on.

(58,785 posts)and very likely not then. His crippling ADD would probably make getting through the first page very hard work, and he'd be forgetting everything as soon as he read it anyway. Because it's not about HIM, he just cannot care.

(26,291 posts)invoke the 25th amendment and remove Trump from office now because eventually this will boomerang on them if they refuse to do their job and remove a President that is clearly mentally unfit for office.
