The dems are chortling about their new chair & vice chair & talking about 2020, yet this orange thing in the White House has done more damage, to our reputation, to our unity, to our safety, to our well-being, in 35 days than any other president. We don't have four years. We don't have two years. The republican party is not going to take him down. They could but they won't. They have proven over & over again that they are party over country. The dems have no power & may not for a very long time, if ever. If the intelligence community doesn't take this thing out, who can? I am feeling worse every day.

cuz that's what I think too. But my friends & family are all like, it can't happen here, even as it's happening before our very eyes. They think that because there are marches scheduled every couple of weeks & postcard mailing events & the like, that things will change. They all think I'm overreacting. My husband did, too, at first, but since Trump's been in office, he sees it too, now.

I love your screen name, btw.

Trump is an insane nut, but these bastards who were seriously elected, should fight for the U.S. Because in the end, there will be very few winners.

------------------------------------------------------
Written by Sinclair Lewis in 1935
"It Can't Happen Here"

http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks03/0301001h.html
------------------------------------------------------
Sinclair Lewis predicted Trump in 1935.

And then find a history of Venezuela ten years before and from Chavez to today, tell them how the citizens of that country also said, constantly, "It Can't Happen Here", but it did.

Anyone who has read about dictatorships, that being Hitler, Musolini, Chavez, Castro, etc. is able to do a comparison to what is going on right now, and how those dictators reached their goals. These people work fast, their pace is non-stop, they keep the opposition fighting false battles while they work in the background to destroy everything that is dear to the citizens, and it is all for greed. Anyone who thinks it is ideology, deep beliefs is just kidding themselves, it is all for power and greed. Also, they are not incompetent, they just seem that way because for normal people it is hard to believe someone would do what they are doing, but keep in mind that the criminal mind works in different ways than that of normal civilized people, they have no remorse, pity, or value of the consequences, all they care is for the end, so any collateral damage is just "a means to an end", and they will never feel bad about the destruction they will cause.

They have lied all their way to power and will never stop lying.

Those who can stop them today better look hard at the situation and take action because the evil ones will not stop, they don't rest, and "too little too late" comes sooner than expected.

I feel as you do, it is pretty frustrating. We are under fascist rule right now, and they are doing everything they can to attempt dictatorship. (And we thought Bush was bad... this is like we are living in a Twilight Zone episode)

There's so much legally, surely, that can be exposed and they could be charged with so many crimes... who has the authority to actually stop this??

They've been colluding for years on wedge issues to put on the ballots, voter suppression, and a slew of other things that in any other circle would be considered racketeering. This is their day, they've achieved what they wanted, near one-party rule (by a minority party, I might add), fuelled by unmitigated greed.

We need to be showing up at their doors.

Given the increasingly bizarre and partisan rhetoric and draft legislation from the GOP over the last several years, I fail to see much cause for optimism.

I guess it is *possible* that Drumpf might finally be the Bridge Too Far for some of them, but more than I had ever thought possible have staked what might prove to be their political lives on backing this tangerine nightmare.

I NEVER thought I would see such a horrible combination in public life, let alone in the Oval Office. A malevolent buffoon that seems to have some kind of mysterious power that stifles independent, rational thought.

He is pushing for more violence and I am afraid it is coming. I heard two old hippies (in the truest sense of the word... .Those peace loving types) talking about having to get guns the other night.
Ask your Trump loving associates and coworkers if this is what makes American great.
70 year old peace loving citizens and veterans of Viet Nam talking about having to get guns so they can fight the government for their freedom.
Fuck Trump and anybody that can stomach him.

From The Hill.

Democratic governors and some Republican governors who attended a meeting with President Trump on Monday were excluded from the traditional bipartisan press conference outside the West Wing, party officials said.

"Some of our gov's planned to go to Pebble Beach to talk to reporters and were not able to," Leopold said in a text message.
Some Republican governors said they had not been included in the press conference either. In an interview with The Hill, Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, the vice chairman of the NGA, said he had learned about the press conference an hour after it took place.

Sandoval is one of a handful of Republican governors whose state accepted money to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.
