Trump Ally Proposes Purge Of Leftists From The Executive Branch
Source: TPM
Conservative congressman and Trump ally Rep. Steve King (R-IA) urged the President on Sunday to “purge Leftists” from his administration before they “sink us.” On his Twitter account, King made the recommendation while posting a story from Conservative Review’s Daniel Horowitz. @RealDonaldTrump needs to purge Leftists from executive branch before disloyal, illegal & treasonist acts sink us. https://t.co/o1DYtgA7aL — Steve King (@SteveKingIA) March 6, 2017 In his article, Horowitz wrote that there had been “a silent coup within the intelligence agencies” against Trump, and he argued for a wholesale firing of political appointees who don’t “share the views of the president.” “Any open borders official within DOJ and DHS should be gone,” he wrote. “Any pro-government-run health care supporter within HHS has to go. Any official within Treasury who is not on board with the OMB spending cuts and pro-growth tax cuts should go . . .” . . . Read more: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/steve-king-purge-leftists

4. If they purge all the leftists
there will be no intelligence left. Bad enough it already looks that way.

15. I bet many of the people they call "leftists" aren't even close to being leftists
They just have some critical thinking abilities and actually care about the country.

16. Agreed. That was where I was going with it.
Repuglicans (at least those running the senate and house ) are one of 2 things, either unintelligent or evil. I am beginning to think the same about anyone who votes for them.

18. Agree. The GOP leadership's gone extreme, well right of
even conservative voters on average. Watching today's GOP, it's so clear that extremists in power are fundamentally stupidified and not only not fit to govern but unwilling. They want to rule. And, of course, many are just plain ambitious, amoral opportunists.

7. Does that mean KIng is proposing doing away with Civil Service
rules and regulations?
Reporters should hound him with that question at every public appearance. |

Political appointees are separate from the usual civil service workers.

9. Steven King likes to say the word "purge" because it sounds vaguely dirty and titillating.

13. Coming soon, to a legislature near you...
In order to work as (insert government job here), you must be a registered Republican.
I'm sure this is in the works somewhere. |

14. It's as if some of these people want to push things to the point of revolution
I don't say that lightly, either. If these people got their way it would turn foster such sentiments that push us toward such a situation. This is by far the most unamerican shit I've ever heard from someone who isn't sitting a dark basement wearing a tinfoil hat while polishing their AR-15s.
