Employees at Breitbart News have been asked by senior editors to refrain from writing stories critical of Jared Kushner, two people familiar with the matter told Business Insider.
The news comes after The New York Times reported over the weekend that Kushner had complained to President Donald Trump about the negative coverage he was receiving from the far-right website.
Kushner had become a target of Breitbart News amid reports that he was feuding with Stephen Bannon, the news website's former executive chairman.
On Wednesday night, for instance, Breitbart published three stories critical of Kushner and promoted them heavily on its homepage. The next day, Axios reported Bannon had told associates, "I love a gunfight." ..................

Hard to believe that Bannon is so stupid as to think he can get away with arguing with any Trump family member, much less the key advisor to Trump. You don't go after the family. Duh! (That explains a lot about Bannon's arrogance and narcissism.)

But I'd guess it might be hard not to play favorites.

(22,651 posts)(wealthy) family. Kushners married to trumps daughter and they have two lovely children.
Even if she divorces Kushner someday, those Trump grand-kids/Trump daughter will retain/settle for millions of Kushners money and assets.

(58,785 posts)I don't know how good or bad Kushner will turn out to be ultimately, but he's probably a decent, ordinary 36-year-old who's still learning what he believes in and is currently in way over his head, while Bannon is literally the kind of man who could be deliberately responsible for 50,000,000 deaths.

(14,173 posts)But I do not consider Kushner a decent, ordinary person. Firstly he obviously chose to hang around that family while courting Ivanka, knowing the kind family beliefs they held. Then once in the family, he didn't distance himself from his father-in-law after not only recently with the ET bus tapes, and everything else he has said and done during the election cycle, but as far back as when he was lying about Obama not being born in the US.
At the very least he could have recused himself and said he wanted to concentrate on running his businesses. But by jumping all in, he is saying that he agrees with every disgusting deplorable word or action that his bug ugly orange asshole father-in-law does or says.

(37,648 posts)So there's that. All Kushner has ever done in his life is run his dad's "business" after dad went to prison. Christie was the prosecutor, which explains why Christie was booted from the transition team or any other spot.

(13,776 posts)There are plenty of people here whose parents watch Fox or have unappealing political and social views. I don't think Ivanka or Jared have any more of an obligation to disown her dad than people here have an obligation to disown theirs.
It may be Pollyanna-ish of me but I suspect that Ivanka and Jared are doing their sincere best to keep the alt-right types from taking over. If my dad were a Fox viewer and he were the President of the United States I would consider it my duty to try to influence him in a positive way the best I could. Alienating him and repudiating his views publicly would mean there would be no counterbalance left.
I'm not about to start an Ivanka and Jared fan club, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Like almost everyone there, they're complete neophytes, but they're probably doing their best. I'd rather have them there than not.

(Note, Ivanka studied primarily under that rabbi but underwent the actual conversion with a more traditional group of rabbis for her actual conversion -- for just this reason).
Keep in mind, this is the liberal side of Orthodox Judaism, but that means pro gay-rights, including secular marriage, etc. Actually all types of social justice are part of the movement. Abraham Heschel would fit right into that congregatiion.

(58,785 posts)I think we can assume that Kushner had absolutely no idea Rump could become president when he chose to marry Ivanka. But they both have an absolute duty now that no one else can fulfill.
