Trump budget chief: Border wall will 'protect millions of low income Americans' who lose Obamacare

Source: RawStory

After years of Republican obstructionism under Democratic President Barack Obama, Trump Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said on Sunday that it was the Democrats who are guilty of “stunning” obstructionism because they will not negotiate on a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

During an interview one Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace noted that the President Donald Trump had offered Democrats a deal: If you fund the border wall, payments to Obamacare will not be cut.

“You are holding hostage health insurance for millions of lower-income Americans,” Wallace pointed out.

“Actually, what I would say is they’re holding hostage national security,” Mulvaney replied. “Again, something they supported in the recent past when President Obama was in the Senate.”

of being murdered by an undocumented immigrant vs. dying of a condition you can't afford to get treated for, but I think I'd prefer to have health insurance and take my chances with the immigrants. Somebody probably has the actual numbers for those odds and I suspect the difference is enormous.

I had a great childhood: lots of freedom to roam the pine woods. Caring teachers. Good friends.

The only drawback was that defending slavery and segregation warped our thinking processes.

So much effort spent justifying wrong as right.

So much effort spent bowing to authority (Jeff Sessions was an Alabama senator for many years till Trump selected him as AG), which dictated that wrong was right.

All this talk of the evils of marijuana and crime waves in the city and make America great is just an excuse for putting more people of color in jail and prison.

We are witnessing what happened after Reconstruction. Just as the people back then talked about the mess that black politicians and voters had made after the War Between the States (Southern for Civil War), Trump talks about the mess that Obama made.

A commentator said that Trump will be judged on statistics at the end of his term. Wrong! Trump gets away with saying Obama left him a mess. And no one points out the statistics of when Obama became President and when he left. All the statistics were excellent.

At this point, by now, "The Wall" has devolved into an abstract conception of "safety" and "keeping out brown people" for dump's idiot followers who live far away from the U.S.-Mexico border. dump keeps it on the front burner prolly because it's something "concrete" he could point to and say he did to fulfill campaign promises (unlike the truly important ones, like not trying to cut Social Security and Medicare).

An idiot pandering to idiots.

to pay for the wall. If I was Dem leadership, I would play that game of chicken. Because we KNOW that cutting O-care is unpopular. And they still haven't explained how they will pay for the wall. More taxes? Deficit spending? Neither option will be popular with their base. They will blink fast.

The public knows Dems put Obamacare in placee and know that Repugs have vowed to repeal it, with no replacement in sight, for 8 years. They have no plan, other than killing poor and middle class people who don't get benefits from their work place. When Obamacare gets gutted (if the assholes can ever agree on the shape of this) it will be totally done by repugs and Dems will not sign off on the destruction of the working class. Repugs will own it, lock, stock, and barrel and they will be punished. Especially if they change Medicaid or ever worse Medicare into a voucher program that covers nothing, which is their true aim with this. They want government spending nothing on anyone but the rich. In fact, they want to steal our hard earned $ and give it to the rich. Yeah, rich Repugs will approve, but how about all the low income folks that stupidy supported drumpf? They will get screwed worse than anyone and will be ripe for the picking, at least any that got sick or that had family or friends that got sick and are far worse off or even dead because of drumpf and his killer krew.

They will get screwed, (so will the rest of us) But I'm pretty sure they will still be blaming the Dems. So I pray the Dems in congress hold together to oppose everything, thus, the repugs get the blame since they are in the majority. This will have to be told to these Republicon voters who continue to re-elect their tormentors. "Your party is in control, your party is doing this to you, they hold all 3 branches of government...don't like it? Vote them out next time, period!"

Unbelievable that with total control of both houses and the White House they try this bullshite.
The American public knows that the GOP has the most power since 1928 and while elections, even fixed ones I guess, have consequences so it also brings accountability to the governing party.
And man do these ass clowns hate accountability.

Fear, Smear, and Queer

Yesterday the pest control technician I let into my house ranted about how scary the Mexican immigrants are. Drumpf and his minions -- including Mulvaney -- are playing on the fears of the hard-of-thinking, including this guy who sprays toxic chemicals for a living.

I did not engage him in discussion. But I am re-evaluating whether or not I want to let this moron back into my house.
