Hardball health care option may cost Trump and taxpayers

Source: ap

WASHINGTON (AP) — Counting down to a budget deadline, the White House has toyed with a hardball health care tactic to force Democrats to yield on President Donald Trump's priorities.

The administration just might eliminate billions of dollars in disputed "Obamacare" subsidies.

But a study out Tuesday from a nonpartisan group suggests that could backfire. Stopping the Affordable Care Act payments at issue may actually wind up costing the federal government billions more than it would save.

The Kaiser Family Foundation found that taxpayers would end up paying 23 percent more than the potential savings from eliminating the health law's "cost-sharing" subsidies, which help low-income people with insurance deductibles and copayments.

It works out to an estimated $2.3 billion more in 2018, or an additional $31 billion over 10 years.

Because then they can say, in a year, how Obamacare, if it still exists, is costing taxpayers 23% more than last year. And then blame Democrats for it. And their deplorable base will lap it up. Its a win win for them.

No subsidies for ACA, no budget sign off. Let them shut down the government. The Dems will be heroes to millions for saving their healthcare. Cries of obstructionism by Rethugs will bite them in the ass. Keep reminding people that they tried to trade their healthcare for a damn wall.

The pukes don't really care that getting rid of subsidies would cost more, let along that millions would suffer.

The radical extremist kochbots just want to stop the ACA to get their tax cuts and to prevent the 'Murican people from realizing how much better off they are when the Federal government is involved in health care.

After all, with pukes it's their crackpot beliefs, not reality, that counts.
