Trump Defends Comey Firing In Early-Morning Tweetstorm

Source: Talking Points Memo

By CAITLIN MACNEAL Published MAY 10, 2017 7:39 AM

The morning after he fired James Comey as the director of the FBI, President Donald Trump fired off several tweets defending his decision and criticizing Democrats for questioning the move.

Trump began the series of tweets just after 7 a.m., mixing his own thoughts with retweets of the Drudge Report.

He also singled out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in a tweet late Monday night.

incompetent. I was watching Columbo and trump is just like the arrogant murderers who think they will get away with their crime and treat Columbo and the justice system he represents like crap. I don't have much hope of anyone stopping trump and so much damage is already done.

I saw Robert Conrad on an episode today. Before I was sidetracked by his muscles, I was watching his performance as a murderer trying to intimidate Columbo because he was a prominent guy. Didn't work. We need more Columbos! Built like Robert Conrad

“He is acting this morning like that information is real,” Nance pointed out. “That means he’s confirming everything that we suspect. And by running around and tweeting that he’s afraid of it, he knows that something’s going on and he’s trying to project a frame of reference about information that he suspects is coming out.”

“If he thinks his phones are tapped, he believes that we know everything and this is a dance that is very dangerous.”

either side of this thing and the statewide NPR station just read their statements, different as night and day. No surprise, but the Democratic Senator called for independent investigator.

I think the Democrats are all on message here and I hope that some actually moderate Rs will go against the cabal at this point. We have a special election for our one rep in the House on the 25th.

... and this is what they see.

I don't think we'll ever live this down, certainly not in my lifetime. I was born in 1951 and I remember a lot. The Kennedy assassination, the segregation protests, the Vietnam War protests, Nixon/Watergate/resignation, and so much more.

This is by far the worst disaster to happen in my lifetime.

The FBI and the CIA have enough evidence to convict Trump of *multiple felonies* right now. There's no reason to do any more investigation. Let's put this guy away now, lock him up and throw away the key.

Democrats: have courage and resolve!

I'm very sorry about the loss of your father.

On another thread I'm reading how the voting machines in Wisconsin were tampered with (hacked) that's probably why Wisconsin went for Trump. As you probably recall on that horrible night in November, 3 states tipped the balance to Trump: Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

It looks like they can prove Wisconsin was tampered with, and I have REAL suspicions about Pennsylvania. PA is my state and a lot of people were puzzled how it could have gone red so quickly. I sure hope we find something and I think we probably will. This is going to go state-by-state and it's one brand of voting machine that's suspected of being hacked.

If we can show that the election was compromised, I mean really prove it, we've got another way to get rid of these maggots. I'd rather put them in jail, but it might be faster to just send them packing by declaring the election void.

I know, the voting machines in question regarding tampering. Those three states how they ultimately flipped for the opposition that the U.S. citizenry has now in so-called governance. That distressful, shocking nite in November. Surreal.

I have never been more immersed in activism as I am now. You have to, gotta squeeze it in, every little bit helps. Damm, I'm retirement age, but cannot sit back and let others stand in the gap. MB I've got some rebel militant in me and it's made manifest presently. What's happening to our Democracy is the catalyst that really brought this out. I get schnockered on occasion, then take an abbreviated 'sabbatical' and jump in again. We planted some container tomatoes and some mint and basil varieties for the first time in 44 plus years! It's a nice diversion from the daily foul utterings one hears or reads about.
Gotta stay on the straightaway and not veer off into the ditch.

I am in awe of others so committed and so knowledgeable regarding all this political stuff.

My dad saw action, WWII Navy, and to witness the travesty wrought on our country presently makes my heart ache.

Stay safe. Be well. Peace be unto you.
