Lawyer: Trump Had No Income From Russians, With Exceptions
Source: NBC Washington
President Donald Trump's lawyers say a review of his last 10 years of tax returns do not reflect "any income of any type from Russian sources," with some exceptions.
The lawyers did not release copies of Trump's tax returns so The Associated Press cannot independently verify their conclusions.
The letter says there is no equity investment by Russians in entities controlled by Trump or debt owed by Trump to Russian lenders. It does reflect income from the 2013 Miss Universe pageant held in Moscow and a property sold to a Russian billionaire in 2008 for $95 million.
The White House says Trump asked his lawyers for a letter following a request from Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who heads one of the congressional committees investigating Russia's interference in last year's election.

Question: If Comey said (three times!) that Trump wasn't under investigation regarding Russia, why did he need to make a statement about his income?

(62,444 posts)If you do something illegal, and list the income on your tax return as "other income", then you MIGHT be able to beat the criminal charge on some other grounds, but you are NOT going to beat the tax evasion charge.
As evidence in the criminal case, the tax form can be excluded under the 5th Amendment. But that doesn't apply when the charge is falsifying your return in the first place.
That's how they got Al Capone.

You can deduct ammunition expenses up to the amount actually fired in your fiscal year.

(108,977 posts)Even though Deutsche had to sue him in 2008 because he was refusing to pay his loan - -- they finally settled -- the private wealth side of Deutsche gave him new loans in subsequent years when no other banks would.
Where did the private wealth money come from and why were they willing to lend it to DT? Was it part of the Russian funds that Deutsche was shown to have laundered for Russians?

(5,801 posts)any dump entities controlled by the con family? Maybe there are additional corps that don't necessarily show on the con's returns but are in the names of other dump crime family members? Iwanna and Jarhead, for example? Or Uday and Kusay?
Besides, show us the returns, not a dump stooge's take on the returns.

(11,841 posts)think of borrowing against a property;thats how you get equity out without it being taxable.
Borrow 30k against a paid off rental property. Your rent received pays the debt payment, the rent is also whats reported as "income". The 30K counts as nothing to the IRS.
