President Donald Trump aired some of his grievances with reporters after what was arguably one of the most tumultuous weeks in Washington.
During an interview with Fox News' Jeanine Pirro on Friday, Trump complained about the news media: "They get free ratings because of me, and yet they don't treat us well," said Trump.
He outlined what could become a new plan to communicate with reporters, citing his dissatisfaction with his own press department after a spate of conflicting reports in the immediate aftermath of FBI Director James Comey's firing.
Trump asserted that his communications department couldn't keep up with him because he was "moving so quickly." Asked how he planned to rectify the issue, Trump gave an answer that elicited a shock.

(6,916 posts)You'll know the press is about to actually start using their brains and reporting the truth when Glenn Thrush and Maggie Haberman stop repeating the president's words when he calls them.

(26,291 posts)unconstitutional of him as he isnt required to answer them anything.
For referring to the articles in the news as "fake news"? He will hide behind the first amendment.
In other words I just dont think that there is anyway that the press could use the court to pressure him as the Constitution protects the press so it can be free to ask questions but there isnt anything in it that forces Trump to answer their questions.

(21,753 posts)What is the News Value of these live circle cranks with a "spokesperson" whose role is to deliberately create reality show drama (Hitler never used gas, hiding in bushes, walking out of briefings)?

And between being a TV celebrity and president.

(19,201 posts)His aides bring ONLY the polls which are favorable to him. Yesterday he said that one poll has him winning by SUCH a large margin, he'd win the popular vote and increase his electoral vote numbers. I wonder who puts out THAT poll?
tRump lives in a fantasy world where bad news does not exist. His aides know this, so to avoid facing the tRump firing squad they push ONLY ridiculously slanted news in front of him.
What a tool.

(67 posts)His press secretary can't keep up with his tweets because he's fucking NUTS! Completely insane. That's why the Russians are using him. He has no center of reality in his thinking. He's looney as Daffy Duck. He just doesn't make the same sounds. His fans will continue to support him because they also suffer from a similar mental illness, driven by racism and fear.

(394 posts)It's a complete disgrace if he does do this but at this point we have to hope that he just gets crazier and crazier. Can you imagine if he really did a press conference every two weeks? There would be so much material to get him on it would be unbelievable.
Let's face it Spicer's daily tv show is just a farce so there is no real point in him being out there. At some point in the future we will have a real president back in the WH and he will bring back the traditional briefing. If Trump insists on treating the highest office in the land and the press with such disdain then we need to support him going all the way.

If you benefit from him, he deserves (demands) your allegiance in return.
Translation: Don't say anything bad about me!
If he doesn't get compliance and allegiance, there are consequences.
But after the way they covered and disrespected a RESPECTABLE President Obama, I can't feel bad for the MSM's predicament.
