Trump ridicules 'obstructionist' Dems while calling on bipartisan support for infrastructure

Deriding Democrats as “obstructionists” for their unwillingness to help him repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, President Donald Trump on Wednesday called on both parties to come together on in support of a major overall of U.S. infrastructure, even as he conceded that such bipartisanship seemed unlikely.

Among Trump’s myriad campaign promises, a major investment in infrastructure was one that received perhaps the warmest response from Democrats, long the party that has historically backed such projects. But the president’s actual infrastructure proposals thus far have come via a bare-bones outline in his administration’s budget proposal, and the White House has up to this point placed more emphasis on undoing Obamacare and pushing an overhaul of the U.S. tax code.

“That's why I'm calling on all Democrats – who honestly have really been obstructionists. Boy, have they tried. I mean every single thing. On health care, I won't get one vote. Obamacare's crashing. It’s dead,” the president said in a speech delivered from the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati. “I don't think, you know, honestly, if I were in that party, I wouldn't be doing it that way. I'd be doing positive things. That's why they lost the House. They lost the Senate. They lost the White House.”

“People don't want to see what's going on. They want to see us all come together but I just don't see them coming together,” the president continued. “They're obstructionists. I'm calling on all Democrats and Republicans to join together, if that's possible, in the great rebuilding of America.”

There is no satire advanced enough to make fun of this shit. Republicans spent 6 years being openly as obstructionist as they possibly could be, and bragging about it, and now they're shooting themselves in the foot over and over, not getting anything done and blaming it on the DEMOCRATS?

So maybe tell your son to stop calling Democrats sub-human and either figure out that you can't just peel everyone's rights and protections away all willy-nilly, and have a seat at the big boy table and figure it the fuck out, right?

Maybe if you put forth policy that was empathetic or sympathetic to the actual human beings in the country that you claim to represent (and yes, you theoretically represent even the ones who didn't vote for you, you monstrous buffoon), and not the corporations that you're getting money from, and hoping to cozy up to when you've checked "Being the Pwesident!" off your bucket list.

Everything he's suggesting, no actual bills have been sent, only helps the 1% and Russia and uniformly hurts this country and it's working class and poor folks. That's why nothing is passing. There would be a huge cost to the repug party to hurt us this bad. Yes, they do want to hurt us, that is their dogma and always will be, but they don't want to be blatant about it, and they just can't sneak thru drumpf's many suggestions for train wrecks. I suspect he'll pressure or threaten them, like he obviously did to McTurtle, and might get some traction but he and his party will pay a high price, unless Russia remains unchecked. In that case, our country is gone forever.
