Comey told senators Sessions may have met Russia's ambassador a third time
Source: CNN
Washington (CNN)Former FBI Director James Comey told senators in a closed hearing this afternoon that Attorney General Jeff Sessions may have had a third interaction with Russia's ambassador to the US, according to people familiar with the briefing.
The information is based in part on Russian-to-Russian intercepts where the meeting was discussed, three sources familiar with the information tell CNN.
But the sources said it is possible the ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, was exaggerating the extent of the encounter.
CNN previously reported exclusively that congressional investigators are examining whether Sessions had an additional private meeting with Russia's ambassador during the presidential campaign, according to Republican and Democratic Hill sources and intelligence officials briefed on the investigation.

THE MEETING UNDER DISCUSSION ALLEGEDLY OCCURRED AT THE MAYFLOWER HOTEL ON APRIL 27, 2016
Seth Abramson put this story on Twitter more than 2 months ago, drawing it from a number of MSM sources, none of which had written a story connecting all the pieces together.

A THEORY about Donald Trump emerged on Twitter last week that could have huge ramifications.
You might not have heard of the Mayflower Hotel scandal, but it goes to the heart of Trumps unseemly relationship with Russia.
The weird thing about the scandal is that all the major facts have already been reported by established journalists in respected media outlets, yet none of them have laid out a narrative that explains how the facts fit together. Until now.
During the week, lawyer and journalist Seth Abramson released a so-called megathread on Twitter, which pieced together an incredible tale, pointing to a cocktail party at the Mayflower Hotel last year as the place where the agreement for Russia to assist Trump in the elections all began.

(5,269 posts)There were enough other top Trumpsters there for Kislyak to have bragged out meeting without including Sessions in his report to Moscow, if they had not met privately.

(15,286 posts)there must be a transcript of an intercepted call regarding Sessions. Sessions' whole involvement with Russia just doesn't seem to fit him, though. His schtik is returning America to pre-Civil War days and not much else. I wonder if Russian ties is something pushed by his right hand man Steven Miller? Miller's aligned with Bannon's worldview of dumping NATO and the US isolationism. This is aligned with outcomes Putin wants, so perhaps Sessions' meetings with Kislyak were at Miller's behest or encouragement.
