Sen. Chris Murphy Takes Fiery Stand Against GOP Health Care Plan

U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) joined Democrats late Monday night in taking over the Senate floor in protest of a GOP bill to overhaul the nation's health care system.

Republicans are preparing for votes next week on the plan, which has not yet been made public.

Using the hashtag #HoldTheFloor and #Trumpcare, Democrats spoke out in protest, demanding to see the details of the bill.

"My constituents, even though they're represented by Democrats, have no less rights than the citizens of Iowa or the citizens of Texas who are represented by Republicans. Why are my constituents not allowed to see the details of what's about to happen to their lives?" a frustrated Murphy asked as he took a turn speaking at 10 p.m. as Democratic senators continued to rally to fight the bill.

6. It isn't just a terrible health care bill

it is really tax breaks for the rich, Trump's base that he cares about. Trumpcare has always been about tax breaks for the 1% that's why it doesn't really matter what's in the bill regarding health care. The 1% have Cadillac health care plans.

When we insist on having a for profit health care system we are going to end up with something like Obamacare, there's only one way to make health care better, Medicare for all.

7. Today's Congressional Republicans Do Not Believe in Democracy or the Rule of Law for Everyone

With the latest of their high-handed tactics, it's glaringly obvious today's congressional Republicans have no regard for the Constitution, democracy or the rule of law. They only throw those ideas out when it suits their specific purposes. Otherwise, they use every tactic, whether legal or not, to achieve their extremist agenda. Their flag-waving patriotism is the height of cynicism. In reality, they have no respect for Americans unless they can be utilized as profit centers. Otherwise, they can all die from lack of healthcare or too many guns. It makes no difference to them. Money is their god. Absolutely nothing or no one else matters.
