White House frustration grows with Tillerson over jobs for Trump allies
Source: Washington Post
The White House is becoming increasingly frustrated with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and a close-knit circle of aides over the slow pace of hiring and a chokehold on information and access to Tillerson, according to senior Trump administration officials and others familiar with the rift.
Tillerson, a former Exxon Mobil chief executive with no prior government experience, gets some of the blame from White House officials and political advisers anxious to place Republican political appointees in numerous vacant positions at the State Department.

(37,329 posts)Tillerson is probably used to doing things this way. Also, (in spite of some opinions) oil companies cannot afford to hire the type of incompetent cranks that Trump seems to be attracted to.
I certainly wouldn't have wanted Tillerson, but I can see why a R would think he was a good pick, and if I was a D Senator I probably would have voted to confirm given the President has the right to pick his cabinet unless they are horrible. This assumes he divested himself of Exxon stock, etc.
