State Election Officials Raise Concern About 2018 Election Security

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — State election officials voiced doubt Saturday that adequate security measures can be adopted before 2018 elections to safeguard against the possibility of a foreign government interfering in U.S. elections.
That’s according to attendees at a weekend gathering of the National Association of Secretaries of State, whose conference was held amid an uproar over a White House commission investigating President Donald Trump’s allegations of voter fraud and heightened concern about Russian attempts to interfere in U.S. elections.

The Department of Homeland Security said last fall that hackers believed to be Russian agents targeted voter registration systems in more than 20 states. And a leaked National Security Agency document from May said Russian military intelligence had attempted to hack into voter registration software used in eight states.

But both Republican and Democratic Secretaries of State, who are responsible for carrying out elections in many states, said they have been frustrated in recent months by a lack of information from federal intelligence officials on allegations of Russian meddling with the vote. They say that despite the best efforts by federal officials, it may be too late in to make substantive changes.

President Donald Trump tweeted Sunday that he discussed forming an "impenetrable cyber security unit" with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G-20 summit in Germany.

That is all.......................we don't need any stinking pen and paper ballots, we get a "impenetrable cyber security unit" blather and babble from a traitor

what is so stinking hard to do that----------------you can't make a profit off the human being, but you can with the machine and its software

The election does not have to be "called" until December 20, of each election cycle, you can't tell me that it can't be done, it was in days gone by, why not now, why isn't there someone in the Congress saying for the safety of this democracy lets have a paper and pen ballot.

Why Not.............

If people had been saying it constantly from the time the machines clearly began to be rigged over a decade ago, maybe we would have remained a democracy. You can't have a democracy when the vote is not verified. And if you don't have a democracy, the people who get elected will gradually become more and more corrupt until we lose even the tiniest remnant of the ideals the country was founded on. This is where we are with Trump.

The majority of the American people still believe in the ideals of the country, "freedom and justice for all," for example. But to return to democracy and the American dream of a society of peace and good will again, if it's possible at all, will take time, as it took time to destroy the country.

The thing started with the blatant stealing of elections.

Someone tell them that nobody will hack our elections ever again.

....

After all, you don't need to hack anything when you are in complete control of the security.
