Iranian Scientist Arriving In U.S. To Aid Cancer Research Sent Home By Border Authorities
Source: Huffington Post
An Iranian scientist coming to the U.S. to aid cancer research was detained at Bostons Logan International Airport with his family on Monday and will be sent home on the next scheduled flight.
Its unclear why the scientist, Seyed Dehnavi, his wife, and their three young children were detained. He has a J-1 visa, which means President Donald Trumps travel ban would not apply to him, and he was set to conduct research at Boston Childrens Hospital.
Customs and Border Protection confirmed the family had been denied entry to the U.S. for reasons unrelated to the travel ban, but declined to elaborate, citing privacy laws.
A friend of Dehnavis who asked to remain anonymous told HuffPost that the scientist flew from Tehran to Doha to Boston, and texted him around 3 p.m. on Monday to say he had arrived with his wife, their infant son, and their daughters, ages 6 and 3. Then Dehnavi went quiet.

(54,378 posts)Trumplogic here. Say the guy helps achieve a major breakthrough in cancer treatment. So, with the right treatment, people with cancer might live longer, even get cured in some cases. What a mess THAT would create! It could mean more outlays for the insurance companies in treatment for people who otherwise might have died and not incurred a cent of further costs. Republicans know (except for Steve Scalise, but that is only recent, and not disease-related) that the only good patient is a dead patient. So, get that kommanist towel head the hell outta here before he saves a life or something.
