Trump blames Obama administration for allowing Russian lawyer in US

The president appeared to cite a report in The Hill that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch allowed Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya to travel into the country early last year.

“She was here because of Lynch,” Trump said during a press conference in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron.

But Trump said his son did nothing wrong.

“I think from a practical standpoint, most people would have taken that meeting. It’s called opposition research,” he said. “Politics is not the nicest business in the world, but it’s very standard.”

Veselnitskaya was granted special immigration parole by Lynch for the limited purpose of helping a company owned by Russian businessman Denis Katsyv, her client, defend itself against a Justice Department asset forfeiture case in New York City......................

If Lynch had not granted a visa to Veselnitskaya, then Don Jr would have had to fly outside the country to meet with her. Then tRump could blame the airline that Don Jr flew on or the foreign country where the meeting took place. There is no way tRump would ever admit that he or someone in his family ever did anything wrong.
