Dem Senators Dance On The Grave Of Senate GOPs Obamacare Repeal Bill

Source: Talking Points Memo

By NICOLE LAFOND Published JULY 18, 2017 9:12 AM

After the GOP effort to repeal and replace Obamacare unravelled Monday night, Senate Democrats celebrated the news and thanked their constituents for speaking out against it.

Sen. Dianna Feinstein (D-CA) announced the delay of the bill on Twitter just after 9:00 p.m. Monday and thanked “everyone” who opposed it.

A few Democrats used the news as an opportunity to call on their colleagues to band together to improve the Affordable Care Act, like Hillary Clinton’s former running-mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA). He called the failed repeal bill “good news” for Americans and sided with comments from Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who made a statement from the hospital as he recovers from a blood clot related surgery, urging Democrats and Republicans to work together.

A few Democratic representatives chimed in as well, with Rep. Joe Kennedy (D-MA) saying Congress has to “fight harder” to make health care good for everyone and Rep. Ted Lieu (R-CA) calling out the President for his “dumb as rocks” idea to repeal and replace without a better plan.

just repeal and delay when the repeal takes effect thinking this will force Senate Democrats to accept any healthcare bill they subsequently come up with., and if they cannot agree on a "new" health plan, the republicans will blame it on the Democrats, and the media will be only too willing to accommodate that LIE.

Who was it who said there really was no difference between republicans and Democrats, needs to have their f**king head examined

There's still a lot of work to make health care available and affordable (if not free) to all. ACA "Obamacare" was a step, but may still prove to be a disaster (as Repubs claim) due to administrative neglect and sabotage.

So, if Trumpcare is failing to pass, that's a relief, but not a cause for celebration.

I thought he was "resting at home". I know a number of media (including media doctors) were indicating his procedure was quite a bit more than had been originally portrayed but did not realize that he was either "back in" or never left the hospital.
