Feinstein: Mueller says Senate Judiciary can interview Trump Jr., Manafort

Source: the hill

By Katie Bo Williams - 07/18/17 02:26 PM EDT

Special counsel Robert Mueller has given the Senate Judiciary Committee the green light to publicly interview Donald Trump Jr. and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, the panel’s top Democrat, Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (Calif.), said Tuesday.

It is unclear whether either potential witness will accept an invitation, though both have said they are willing to cooperate with investigators looking into Russian meddling in the presidential election and possible ties between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has indicated he is willing to subpoena both men if necessary.

The panel has been sparring with the Senate Intelligence Committee over which committee will get first crack at Trump Jr. after he published emails detailing planning for a 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer offering political dirt on then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

The OK from Mueller gives the Judiciary Committee the latitude to proceed with its probe into the meeting, which took place on June 9, 2016, at Trump Tower in New York...................................

bigly errors while testifying under oath. Then, Mueller will whip-saw him without mercy. As for Manafort, Mueller has squeezed him dry, and now he wants a means to give #45 a flavor of Manafort's statement. That should drive #45 further nuts than he is now.

Obviously, Trump & his minions are filthy creatures I just hope Mueller can find evidence that will take them down...Finding the actual evidence can be hard sometimes.

3. GOP bus to Hell

Today is a good day for us my DU friends.

The wheels are coming off of Trump collusion denial.
Mueller knows much more than we do about dumbass jr's meeting with the Russians. Money laundering is strongly indicated by Kaveladze being at meeting. We already knew that, but now we know Mueller knows that and much more.

Americans love Affordable Care Act! The russians - I mean GOP - attempt to repeal it have been hilarious. GOP women are not quite the nut-jobs that the russian - I mean GOP - men are. The axle of the Trump - I mean russian - presidency is also breaking.

Time for their whole fucking Kremlin bus to explode. Most in the GOP will be in it when it does.

As much as I despise Trump, he is destroying the GOP and himself. Maybe the few honest conservatives in the GOP are trying to get off of the doomed bus.

(uhhhh except the FBI? I dunno) - But this article from March has him lawyered up and willing to testify. How did I miss this nugget??!

I really want this guy in prison, right after he's convicted of 10-12 Federal crimes. And I want his "story", complete with instagrams, million-dollar loan info, etchings, tweets...recordings...yeah, I want this motherfucker BAD.

From March:

Reginald Brown, chairman of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr’s financial institutions group and head of the firm’s congressional investigations practice, has been retained by President Donald Trump’s former top campaign adviser Paul Manafort Jr., according to a source familiar with the matter.

Brown declined to comment when asked about his role representing Manafort, who on Friday said he was willing to appear before members of the House Intelligence Committee to put to rest questions about his alleged ties to Russia.

“Mr. Manafort instructed his representatives to reach out to committee staff and offer to provide information voluntarily regarding recent allegations about Russian interference in the election,” said Jason Maloni, a crisis communications expert recently hired by Manafort. “As Mr. Manafort has always maintained, he looks forward to meeting with those conducting serious investigations of these issues to discuss the facts.”

In Brown, Manafort (pictured right) will have at his side a seasoned advocate for those called to Capitol Hill. The American Lawyer reported in 2009 on Brown’s role leading a Wilmer team representing Bank of America Corp. in hearings before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform related to the financial services giant’s proposed merger with Merrill Lynch. Brown, who also advised former Hewlett-Packard Co. board member George Keyworth II and has handled several high-profile pro bono matters, helped former IRS chief John Koskinen avoid impeachment by the House in December.

12. We're pretty sure Manafort was the first to talk so he did get a deal

Remember when Flynn tried to get a deal and the Feds said "No thanks"?

They were already talking to Manafort even then, and it was early March or maybe late Feb. I can't say for sure but it was right after Flynn was fired. The rumors were flying that Manafort already had a deal and told the Feds everything he knew. So this guy is state's evidence now.

It's actually to Mueller's advantage to let him talk to the Senate. It will put the fear of God into Trump I can tell you that.
