Gingrich to GOP: Pass tax cuts or get ready for Speaker Pelosi
Source: The Hill
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich is urging Republicans to pass tax cuts, warning that failing to do so could result in voters coming together against Republican lawmakers.
"The specter of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is looming," Gingrich and Brad Anderson, former CEO of Best Buy and a member of the Job Creators Network, wrote in a piece published in USA Today.
"Following Republicans failure to fix the countrys health care system, polls show Americans are increasingly flirting with Democratic governance in Congress next year."
As a result, Republicans need to change their game plan, the two wrote.
"The next six months must not be the same as the last six months," the piece said.
"To regain their legislative momentum and keep their majority, Republicans must clearly demonstrate they are fighting for the countrys hardworking taxpayers. This means passing a major tax cut by Thanksgiving and making it retroactive to the start of this year."

What the hell does it mean for hard working taxpayers?
Former Best Buy CEO Anderson, that has a house down in Naples, that is over 45,000 square feet, and has money off shored, what is his tax rate there zippy, what has he done to improve infrastructure in this country if he pays less than 15% on earned income tax credit, while I have to pay 33%.
Or does it mean that people and corporations can hide there profits in foreign accounts and not pay there taxes, but get the police, fire fighters, roads, teachers, hospitals and other items taken off the back of the people that can't park or hide there earnings off shore and pay there taxes, or better yet have business dealing with a Russian crime organization for 15% tax on earning, is this what you mean there Newt.
Or does it mean trickle down my leg economics? Have you taken a look at KANSAS lately and WisCONsin, there both failures ass**** with your Reagan economic BS.
Since your suppose to be some professor, have you taken a good hard look at what it was like to have people and businesses pay 90% tax on wealth, then down to 77% and now look at the what happened after that ----------------your an ass****, take your wife and go to the Vatican to repent.

(130,895 posts)of course, but let it hang out there as if the PEOPLE would experience some tax relief.

(16,785 posts)as explained last night by the GREAT Lawrence O'Donnell.
Tax Cuts will only add to the deficit and National Debt, especially if Donald Trump is stupid enough to get us into more wars. Taxes will have to be doubled on the very rich to pay for the bloodshed and destruction of life to come.

(6,539 posts)It was Gingrich who really divided this country and put the truly insane GOP in charge in 1995. He came in acting as if they, the GOP, knew better than anyone else. I doubt if America will ever recover from this monster. May he never enjoy a day in comfort for what he did.

(11,519 posts)Newtie hasn't had his face on the news lately so he feels the need to spout some bullshit in order to get noticed. He probably hopes 45* will have a position for him (hint to Newt - you DON'T want to work for 45*, it won't end well for you).

(7,113 posts)Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he get fined for ethics violations?
And didn't he leave office in disgrace because, after flogging Bill Clinton's affair into impeachment, word got out that he was doing/has done the same thing?
Gingrich and Denny Hastert: GOPers' idea of great Speakers when they're bashing Pelosi!

Dems are ready to deal with issues, why to the R's insist on going alone on all things?
And for extra irony, this is Newt scolding his party, the guy who invented "fuck the Dems, we do this alone or not at all" government.

"This new economic activity produced by the tax cuts would - along with other regulatory and pro-growth efforts - restore the country to its historic 3% growth rate. This would produce trillions of dollars in extra revenue that would offset the fiscal costs of the tax cuts."
Oh, phuck. This shit again? Virtually no economist believes the claim that tax cuts result in increased federal revenues. Until "TAX CUTS CREATE REVENUE" becomes an Expletive Deleted for the Reich-wing, this lie will never die. Have they forgotten:
"Tax reform will result in increased economic activity that will lead to increased tax revenue. Kansas ...(is) a model state for the free market, limited government approach." - Derrick Sontag, Americans for Prosperity, Kansas Battalion, before the fucking roof fell in on them.
Why not create millions of middle class jobs by investing in our nation's infrastructure to paid for by raising revenue through closing tax loopholes?
And isn't the nation in a death spiral of debt? At least it was when that "other guy" was in office just a few months ago.
