(PHILADELPHIA) -- Police in Philadelphia are searching for a man caught on surveillance video giving a lewd hand gesture to the camera and then urinating on the walls of a synagogue.

On Sunday at about 12:30 a.m., the unknown man was seen on surveillance video approaching the front doors of the Congregation Beth Solomon, the Philadelphia Police Department said.

The suspect "gave an obscene hand gesture in the direction of the camera, then began to urinate on the walls, and sidewalk directly in front of the doors of the Synagogue," police said in a statement.

Police said the suspect then got into the passenger seat of a white four-door sedan and left the scene. Police said the car was possibly a BMW.

Man Charged For Allegedly Urinating On Synagogue Doors

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police say the man caught on video urinating in front of the doors of a synagogue in the Somerton section of Philadelphia has turned himself in.

Police say 23-year-old Sheidali Dzhalilov of the 2100 block of Hoffnagle Street turned himself into the Northeast Detective Division on Tuesday around 7 p.m.



Dzhalilov has been charged with ethnic intimidation, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and other related charges. The incident happened at 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the Congregation Beth Solomon at 198 Tomlinson Rd.

Police say the man approached the front doors of the synagogue, made an obscene gesture in the direction of a camera, and then proceeded to urinate on the walls and sidewalk in front of the synagogue’s doors.
