The ghostwriter of Donald Trump's book The Art of the Deal has predicted the US president's resignation by the end of the year.
Tony Schwartz wrote on Twitter: The circle is closing at blinding speed. Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice.
Special counsel Robert Muellers probe into possible Russian collusion on Trumps campaign has intensified in recent weeks as the presidents opponents voiced hopes it could lead to the end of his term.
Reports emerged last week that the former FBI chiefs team raided the Virginia home of the US presidents campaign chief Paul Manafort.

The ghostwriter of Donald Trump's famous memoir The Art of the Dealdoubled down on his prediction that Trump will resign the presidency before the end of the year.
"The snowball is beginning to gather momentum as it comes down the mountain," Tony Schwartz told Anderson Cooper on CNN Thursday. "It reminds me a lot of Watergate and the last days of Nixon... He's put himself in an isolated, no-win position. The level of his destructiveness is staggering."
His television appearance echoed tweets he had published the day before saying Trump would resign office and soon.
"The circle is closing at blinding speed," Tony Schwartz, who CNN reportsspent more than a year with Trump writing his 1987 memoir, tweeted August 16. "Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice."

(10,419 posts)Schwartz and David Cay Johnston have been relentless in exposing 45 for the psychopathic fraud that he is. At the rate events have been popping I really don't see him stinking up the Oval Office for long.
But then we get Pence...the stealth bigot.

(32,634 posts)But he couldn't talk about it until less than a year ago because he signed a confidentiality agreement. So this guy has insights into Trump's personality that go way back to the time before Cheeto ever considered running for public office. I believe Tony Schwartz's opinions are worthwhile, and he feels he needs to set the record straight about Trump.
The fact that he's also a Democrat is a plus in my book.
