Texas Tech releases statement after video of a white student using the n-word goes viral

An expletive-filled rant about white, black and Mexican people by a man who is purportedly an incoming Texas Tech freshman went viral this week and has many calling for his admission to the university be revoked, after it was shared by a writer who called him a bigot.
On Thursday Texas Tech seemingly responded to the controversy, though the school's statement did not mention the video specifically.
Shaun King, a justice writer at the New York Daily News, shared the video on Thursday with the caption, "You should revoke his admission."
In the video, a person King says is a student, frequently uses the n-word and calls Mexicans "stupid," when trying to explain that every race is just as stupid as the others.

I've lived here my whole life and went to UT Austin - the biggest reason I went there.
