Poll: McConnell the country's least popular politician

Source: The Hill

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has the lowest favorability rating of any elected official with a national profile, according to a new Harvard-Harris poll provided exclusively to The Hill.

McConnell scores just a 19 percent favorable rating in the national poll, worse than President Trump and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

Forty-nine percent of voters polled have a negative view of the Senate leader. The rest of those polled didn’t know McConnell, or didn’t know enough to have an opinion.

McConnell, who is not up for reelection until 2022, only has an 18 percent job approval rating in Kentucky according to a poll released this week by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling.

by a landslide, if given the chance today.
The second problem is: Senate Republicans would re-elect him as the majority leader today, if given the chance.

Therefore: small solace that he is unpopular nationally.

(I don't mean to rain on your parade, demmiblue; I'm just in one of those "so what does it profit us" moments.)

We, who pride ourselves on our Constitution, have discovered that certain articles written into our Constitution have created and will continue to create inequities that deliver to us elected officials that are not the choice of the American voters.

I'm referring to 1. the electoral college, and 2. two Senators from each state, regardless of the population of the state.

It's too big a subject to get into at this moment for me, but you likely get my gist.

Which I understand is just 2, but berea college also does a big voting push. Might be a thing, this like Lexington and Louisville are the blue areas. Little Berea is the fastest growing town in Kentucky. Turtle man must hate that.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) remains the most popular politician in the country and is the only national figure in the poll that a majority of voters view favorably.

I was shocked to find out the contractor who has been camped out here for the past month, putting in my new kitchen and bathroom, is a Democrat. We been having some good discussions. He chews tobacco and wears bibbed overalls, but hellofa smart guy.
