Totally lacking in empathy and I voted for him: Disillusioned supporter unloads on Trump

Source: raw story

30 Aug 2017 at 14:07 ET

......... a Pittsburgh panel of voters that was held on Tuesday evening,.....................................

Trump voter Tony Sciullo, an insurance company president, said that while he still agrees with Trump on many of the issues the president ran on, he thinks that Trump’s larger-than-life personality has completely overwhelmed the focus that should be placed on his agenda.

“What most disappoints me is he’s such an incredibly flawed individual who has articulated so many of the values that I hold dear,” said Sciullo. “The messenger is overwhelming the message.”

Sciullo also takes issue with the president’s response to the violence committed by white nationalists during the Charlottesville rally.......

“He is almost totally lacking in empathy,” he said. “That’s why he scores so poorly on all of these issues. He cannot put himself in the other person’s moccasins, whether it be racial or international or socio-economic. He’s incredibly obtuse. And I voted for him.”

They really did not pay attention to trump during the primary and general. His character was all there for all to see.

Seriously.

Make a list. Find something he supported that he also didn't contradict himself on.

Even the things he didn't contradict himself on ... are those really values anybody could place a premium on?

That jumped out at me, "What values that he holds dear?" I listened to Trump and I heard meanness, hatred, violence, ignorance, racism, etc. Whenever he tried to talk about issues, world events, or policy, it was totally incoherent and uninformed. What did this guy hear? And what was "dear" about it?

that he is as obtuse as Trump, and as lacking in empathy as Trump too.

Anyone who voted for Trump is like the bumper sticker post in DU, "1 out of 3 Trump supporters is as stupid as the other two"

Anyone who is expecting any changes, any miracles in Trump's behaviour falls in that category as well.

..if they were so willfully obtuse and ignorant as to vote for him in the first place.

If that was something that they did in the first place then they are fickle and easily persuaded by things other than facts and data (feelings, emotions, anger, hatred, etc.).

Let's worry about the many more non-voters out there than about the small minority of people who voted for Trump and now are willing to express regret and remorse.

All the twitler supporters I have known or encountered have personalities that are bully types. They like to make fun of and intimate people.

Years ago I worked with a guy who was a total jerk. I was always polite towards him and never really spoke much to him but I used to see him be so mean to others. I saw on his Facebook page he was a big twitler supporter. He sent me a friend request which I ignored. Birds of a feather flock together.
