This morning brought the highly concerning news that North Korea had successfully tested a hydrogen bomb. This comes on the heels of reports that the reclusive nation was now able to fit an h-bomb onto long-range missiles. President Trump took to Twitter earlier today to remark on the nuke test, criticizing South Korea for its appeasement of its neighbor.
After he was leaving church today during todays national day of prayer for Hurricane Harvey victims, the president was asked by the press if he planned on attacking North Korea.
Well see, he told reporters.
Following these brief comments, the president once again used his favorite communication tool to comment on the North Korea situation.

(7,403 posts)Are clearly of Russian design.
The early nuclear development came from Pakistan, as I understand it. Today's hydrogen explosion suggests they are getting their latest help from elsewhere and I would expect Russia here as well - along with the technology to fit an H-bomb on an ICBM.
So much for "wouldn't it be great if we got along with Russia". And with Putin holding a blackmail card - who knows how this could turn out. We are in a period as scary as the Cuban Missile Crisis - too bad we don't have the same stable leadership we had back then.

(17,390 posts)Remember when Green Party supporter Susan Sarandon was on all the talk shows suggesting that Trump might actually be a more liberal, safer pick than Hillary Clinton?

Susan Sarandon: Clinton more dangerous than Trump
Actress Susan Sarandon says Hillary Clintons foreign policy makes her a greater national security risk than Donald Trump, adding that it's "inevitable" the White House hopeful will be indicted.
I believe in a way shes more dangerous, except theyre both talking to Henry Kissinger apparently lately, Sarandon told The Young Turks on Thursday.
Her record I mean, she did not learn a thing from Iraq. She is an interventionist. Shes done horrible things, horrible things, and very callously," she added.
I dont know if shes overcompensating or what her trip is. I think well be in Iran in two seconds. That scares me. That frightens me.
Keep seeing susan surandons name appear lately ... how many votes did she sway?
I'm no fan of hers, and I definitely would not take political advice from any celebrity.
