Schumer: Trump tax plan 'wealth-fare'
Source: The Hill
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) ripped President Trump's long-awaited tax framework on Wednesday, arguing it would provide a financial "windfall" for wealthy Americans.
"It seems that President Trump and Republicans have designed their plan to be cheered in the country clubs and the corporate boardrooms," Schumer said from the Senate floor.
He added the GOP tax plan should be called "wealth-fare."
"[Republicans are] going to be in for a rude awakening as the American people are going to rise up against this," Schumer said. "It's little more than an across-the-board tax cut for America's millionaires and billionaires."

(23,147 posts)That is the main criteria. They are even RAISING taxes on the poor so they can decimate the amount the rich (read orange assface) are supposed to pay. He never paid his fair share and now is trying to make the law reflect that he actually owes almost nothing and single working moms will see their effective tax rates skyrocket. That's what he's always about, stealing from the poor to enrich himself, and that's exactly what the tax plan is. It's a bonus to him that he's also doing the wishes of the donors, because they are greedy asses just like him, but just a feature. His goal is cutting his own taxes and fucking over the poor.

keep them dumb, don't let them know how they are being gutted and gut the poor (they can't do much about it)
When the average person wakes up and figures out what is going on...the rich will be in for it..and off shore residence will not help them .

It should be tattooed on their foreheads.
It should be mentioned in every party platform statement.
Why doesn't the D party hammer this home? It's ALWAYS the GOP's aim, after all. Remind America!

(11,990 posts)It's not that simple because of other changes in deductions, but just on the face of it, if you raise the lowest income tax tier from 10% to 12%, that's a 20% increase in actual dollars due; if you lower the top tier from 39.6% to 35%, that's roughly a 10% decrease in total dollars due.
The bottom line is that some people will be paying more, and those some people ain't gonna be the rich.

(14,494 posts)...that more money in the pockets of the wealthy and the war chests of corporations is that a substantial part of it will be used against us to fund right-wing anti-worker political campaigns and organizations such as ALEC, AEI and the Heritage Foundation.
In the same light, every penny in excess profits from every purchase we make as consumers will likely trickle up and be used against our best interests. I've always found a cruel, ironic humor in that, and often sense it in the check-out lane.
This is a race to the bottom, folks. This bill will put jet fuel in the gasoline tank, just like W's did.
