House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Sunday wouldn't guarantee that every middle class person would get a tax cut under President Trump's tax reform proposal.
"That's the purpose of doing this," Ryan said on CBS's "Face The Nation." "The purpose of this is to get a middle class tax cut."
Ryan was pressed on whether that was a guarantee that every middle class person would get a tax cut under the president's plan. "Well, I don't know every single person's little, small problem or issue," he said.
Ryan said the purpose of the tax reform plan is to lower middle class taxes. "So yes, people are going to get tax cuts. How big are those tax cuts? That depends on the individual," he said.

(52,236 posts)it's just an unavoidable accident that in doing so, virtually all the benefits will go to the top 1% and all billionaires will reap millions in tax savings.

And, the middle class will no longer be burdened by that Alternative Minimum Tax. Again: as if.
Nope, this change is aimed at upper incomes. In particular, Trump and his family will gain spectacularly. You'll be amazed at how much he'll gain.

His nose gets longer as you watch, Do you realize how hard camouflaging that is? I gotta have more money.
Seriously though, we wont be able to score this until we see what they plan to do with the child tax credit and what the actual brackets are. I played with the numbers a little and, because the personal exemption is going away, the new standard deduction is about the same as the current deduction/exemption package for a married couple with one child. Some of Trumps most fervent supporters, the Quiverfulls, are going to get hosed.
