Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Sunday urged President Trump to get to work to help Puerto Rico instead of calling names.
"The president, instead of tweeting against the mayor of San Juan, who's watching her people die and just made a plea for help, [should] roll up his sleeves and get to work here," Schumer said on CBS's "Face The Nation."
"The bottom line is, at least for the first week-and-a-half, the effort has been slow-footed, disorganized and not adequate."
Schumer said other people have agreed that more needs to be done in Puerto Rico to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. "This has not been a good response," he said. "It needs the president to stop calling names...roll up his sleeves and get to work."

Trump to attend Presidents Cup golf tournament Sunday
President Trump updated his schedule on Sunday to attend the Presidents Cup Golf Tournament at Liberty National Golf Club.
Trump is scheduled to arrive at the course this afternoon and will participate in the trophy presentation at 6 p.m. Several former presidents attended the tournament this week, including former presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton.
Trump has spent the weekend at his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
He spoke with several current and former Puerto Rican officials Saturday to discuss relief efforts on the island following Hurricane Maria and received a briefing from Federal Emergency Management Agency chief Brock Long on federal recovery efforts in the U.S. territory.
Trump also faced criticism this weekend for slamming Puerto Rican officials, including San Juan mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, for their poor leadership during the crisis.
