IRS plans to keep Trump's tax returns in a safe

Source: The Hill

The outgoing commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) says the agency is planning to move President Trump’s tax returns into a new safe from their previous locked filing cabinet.

In an interview with Politico, John Koskinen said he’s never seen Trump’s tax returns, and said the agency is in the process of moving them.

“It’s [Trump’s returns] in a locked cabinet in a locked room that nobody’s in. You’ll need a key to the room and the cabinet to get it,” Koskinen told the magazine. “We’re in the process of turning that cabinet into a safe. We keep all the returns from every president in there.”

Koskinen also said he can’t say whether or not Trump’s taxes are being audited, telling Politico “you’ll have to go with whatever he [Trump] says” and saying nobody at the agency has the ability to see Trump’s returns.

Interrupting the longest "audit" in U.S. history, no doubt.

They could not have processed it otherwise. All they are safe-guarding are the originals.

Of course he gets a special safe to help hide a tax return he won't release as promised. Now he's using government resources to assist with the scam, now that he's king.

Is it a gold-plated safe and not something ordinary?

14. Ya, if it were just ordinary folk the returns would be posted on the internet for the world to see.

Assess the tax, and docket for court. Then, it becomes public information.

17. There is no evidence of an audit, just Trump saying they're under audit.

It would be easy enough for him to produce the IRS audit notice letter, but he did not do that. I'm assuming there is no audit.

I should have prefaced my post with something like "if there is an actual audit." My point is that, if there is an audit, that information can become public.

You need a subpoena... the people that matter will have full and unfettered access to Trump’s taxes.
