IRS plans to keep Trump's tax returns in a safe
Source: The Hill
The outgoing commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) says the agency is planning to move President Trumps tax returns into a new safe from their previous locked filing cabinet.
In an interview with Politico, John Koskinen said hes never seen Trumps tax returns, and said the agency is in the process of moving them.
Its [Trumps returns] in a locked cabinet in a locked room that nobodys in. Youll need a key to the room and the cabinet to get it, Koskinen told the magazine. Were in the process of turning that cabinet into a safe. We keep all the returns from every president in there.
Koskinen also said he cant say whether or not Trumps taxes are being audited, telling Politico youll have to go with whatever he [Trump] says and saying nobody at the agency has the ability to see Trumps returns.

(6,917 posts)Of course he gets a special safe to help hide a tax return he won't release as promised. Now he's using government resources to assist with the scam, now that he's king.
Is it a gold-plated safe and not something ordinary?

(51,568 posts)It would be easy enough for him to produce the IRS audit notice letter, but he did not do that. I'm assuming there is no audit.
I should have prefaced my post with something like "if there is an actual audit." My point is that, if there is an audit, that information can become public.
