A Split From Trump Indicates That Flynn Is Moving to Cooperate With Mueller

Source: New York Times

WASHINGTON — Lawyers for Michael T. Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, notified the president’s legal team in recent days that they could no longer discuss the special counsel’s investigation, according to four people involved in the case, an indication that Mr. Flynn is cooperating with prosecutors or negotiating such a deal.

Mr. Flynn’s lawyers had been sharing information with Mr. Trump’s lawyers about the investigation by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, who is examining whether anyone around Mr. Trump was involved in Russian efforts to undermine Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

That agreement has been terminated, the four people said. Defense lawyers frequently share information during investigations, but they must stop when doing so would pose a conflict of interest. It is unethical for lawyers to work together when one client is cooperating with prosecutors and another is still under investigation.

The notification alone does not prove that Mr. Flynn is cooperating with Mr. Mueller. Some lawyers withdraw from information-sharing arrangements as soon as they begin negotiating with prosecutors. And such negotiations sometimes fall apart.

Trump was mostly concerned with Comey's interest in Flynn, even directly asking Comey “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go,” . Flynn might be Trump's Achilles heel, and if he flipped, Trump is done.

due to his son's illegal activities.

What pissed me off is that their prison time will be reduced now. I can't believe that both Flynn and Kushner are registered Dems!

6. CBS News - Trump won't pay for Mike Flynn's legal bills: Official

President Trump will not be paying for former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn's legal bills, a White House ethics official confirmed to CBS News.

"POTUS is not paying anything to Flynn," the official told CBS News. "President (Trump) has never been approached for money from Manafort or Flynn and would not contribute under these circumstances."

Flynn's family established a legal defense fund for him earlier this fall, saying the legal bills are more than the family can afford. In a September statement released by Joe Flynn and Barbara Redgate, Flynn's brother and sister, the family said that the "various investigations arising out of the 2016 presidential election have placed a tremendous financial burden" on the Flynn family, and that the attorneys' fees and other related costs "far exceed their ability to pay."

IQ45!

Interesting how he's "there for his friends."

Remember on the campaign trail how he told "Trumpkins" to go ahead and mug protesters and he'd pay their legal fees?
Wonder how that turned out?

It seemed pretty clear that he would now throw the Flynns and Manaforts of his acquaintance under the bus in a nanosecond:

“He likes and respects Mr. Manafort and appreciates the work he did for him during the three months he was with the campaign. He likes General Flynn personally, but understands that they have their own path with the special counsel,” Mr. Cobb said. "I think he would be sad for them, as a friend and a former colleague, if the process results in punishment or indictments. But to the extent that that happens, that’s beyond his control.”

Quite a difference from him asking Comey to end the investigation on Flynn because he was such a great guy. But at least he would be SAD!
