Masturbation, sharing beds lead to homosexuality, according to leaked Mormon teachings

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by muriel_volestrangler (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

A newly leaked Mormon church document from 1981 warns church leaders that masturbation can turn a person gay.

The document also reveals that Mormon missionaries were banned from sharing beds and dressing and bathing in front of each other to discourage homosexual behavior.

The handbook was leaked this week by MormonLeaks, a Las Vegas-based transparency group. The document, called “Homosexuality,” was created to guide church leaders working with homosexual church members.

“As we have previously stated, homosexuality is a sin in the same degree as adultery and fornication,” the guidebook states. “Powerful forces are seeking to establish this sinful practice as an acceptable way of life.”

...both "religions" exert a tremendous influence --even control-- on their member's basic general mindset and mental condition. Yes, in my humble opinion, hard-core adherence to both "religions" can resemble, and perhaps even antagonize mental illness.

...where they mark off the days WHEN THEY DIDN'T MASTURBATE. The female missionaries typically don't have to resort to reminders to keep their bodies as pure as their minds... everyone knows good girls don't masturbate.

But that’s not the craziest thing they teach by a long shot... and it’s far from the craziest thing many organized religions have to say about your place in the universe...

God gave people darker skin as a sign of sinfulness.
Brown people are not fully human
Forcing a 12 yr old girl to marry an old man as his 6th wife is God's command.

None of this is groundbreaking news.

Now this said, while the church itself officially stands for this crap, the vast majority of people raised in the Mormon church are good, decent honest people from what I've seen and fairly well disagree with the most ridiculous of Mormon teachings.

Writing off all Mormons would be like the world writing off all Americans with no exceptions because the toddler in chief is an idiot.

We've had a couple of threads on it over 24 hours ago elsewhere: https://upload.democraticunderground.com/113750157 and https://www.democraticunderground.com/1218262519 , and the Mormon's strange ideas aren't new - eg https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=4557418 . Please repost in GD, or join the 2 other recetn threads. Thanks.
