Ever since former FBI Director James Comey made his existence on Twitter known, he had refrained from weighing in directly on matters involving the Justice Department since his firing last spring. Until now at least.
It was reported this week that the FBIs top lawyer James Baker was being reassigned. Baker headed the FBIs Office of General Counsel for years, but will be removed from the post when the current FBI Director Christopher Wray finds his replacement. Baker insisted to colleagues that it had nothing to do with the recent controversies that have emerged in recent weeks involving the FBI and Robert Muellers ongoing investigation.
Well, Comey broke his silence and took to Twitter late Friday night.

This is the first time Comey has publicly defended specific individuals within the FBI that have been involved in personnel changes or have been caught up in controversy in the Mueller probe.

(16,104 posts)You can even turn elections at the last minute with absolute bullshit!
I know a couple states where Democrats who hated a certain candidate voted in record numbers for a 3rd Party candidate - sure seems like Comey has some experience with partisan attacks on anyone.
I guess he has survived his "mild nausea."
Book to be coming.

(45,843 posts)but I do think Comey made an effort all along to stick to the political center, IF you read his words and not just his timing or actions. He did misjudge the effects of his efforts, he was pressured to do this or that or something to appease partisan elements, but he has also done the right thing, as a lawman is taught, to document and adhere to rule of law.
