Arpaio: Congress should examine presidential birth certificates

Source: The Hill

Former Maricopa County, Ariz. Sheriff Joe Arpaio resurfaced false claims on Wednesday that former President Barack Obama's birth certificate is a "forgery" and said Congress should pass a law requiring such documents to be examined.

"I'm going to tell you again that that document is a forgery document," Arpaio told WABC's Rita Cosby."And nobody will touch it."

"I wanted to get it to Congress so they can pass some type of law – regulation – that when somebody runs for president you ought to check their background, so this won't happen again," he added. "But I can't get anybody – anybody – to even look at it."

Arpaio announced on Tuesday that he will seek the Republican nomination in Arizona's 2018 Senate race. He told Cosby on Wednesday that he would raise the issue of Obama's birth certificate in Congress.

Very likely Arpaio promised to do this before Trump pardoned him.

The headline right below this was:

"Trump administration ends registry for substance abuse, mental health programs."

If ever someone needed the later...

Seeing that in such proximity to Arpaio's name made me chuckle. In a morbid manner, but chuckle.

Trump Once Said the ‘Access Hollywood’ Tape Was Real. Now He’s Not Sure.

Trump Casts Doubt on ‘Access Hollywood’ Video

Although Donald Trump publicly apologized after the release of a video in which he admitted to groping women, people close to him say that privately he has expressed doubts that the voice in the recording is his.

....................Mr. Trump’s falsehoods about the “Access Hollywood” tape are part of his lifelong habit of attempting to create and sell his own version of reality. Advisers say he continues to privately harbor a handful of conspiracy theories that have no grounding in fact.

In recent months, they say, Mr. Trump has used closed-door conversations to question the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate. He has also repeatedly claimed that he lost the popular vote last year because of widespread voter fraud, according to advisers and lawmakers.

In a statement, Donald J. Trump said that vulgar remarks he made in an “Access Hollywood” tape in 2005 about women “don’t reflect” who he is.

One senator who listened as the president revived his doubts about Mr. Obama’s birth certificate chuckled on Tuesday as he recalled the conversation. The president, he said, has had a hard time letting go of his claim that Mr. Obama was not born in the United States. The senator asked not to be named to discuss private conversations.

Mr. Trump’s journeys into the realm of manufactured facts have been frequent enough that his own staff has sought to nudge friendly lawmakers to ask questions of Mr. Trump in meetings that will steer him toward safer terrain...............

How deep the stupid runs there sometimes. The demographic is changing of course, but as a retirement Mecca, it has always been influemced by the older vote. Much older.

so what would he like to do? Find a doorway in Time, go back to 2008 and somehow prevent Obama from assuming the presidency?

Please, please, let this man win AZ's Republican primary. He will get absolutely demolished in November.

The Moores and Arpaios everywhere should be supported in their efforts to defeat more electable GOP primary candidates.
