Trump: DACA 'probably dead' because of Democrats

Source: The Hill

BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 01/14/18 08:31 AM EST

President Trump said Sunday that the program protecting immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children is “probably dead,” placing the blame on Democrats.

Trump announced last year that he would rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, but provided Congress with six months to craft a legislative fix.

Lawmakers, however, have yet to reach a deal with the White House, and the president has said that a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border “must be part of any DACA approval.”

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on Saturday said it would begin taking new requests for young undocumented immigrants seeking protections under the Obama-era program following a preliminary injunction last week that blocked Trump's decision to end DACA.

4. Side note: the excuse from the "great negotiator" don't make any sense

Any "great negotiator" would at least be able to make an offer someone could understand. But he claims "Democrats don't really want it", which everyone knows is a lie, because DACA is a Democratic program. What Democrats don't want is his Mexican wall. "Take desperately needed money away from our Military" seems a complete red herring; Trump wants to give even more money to the military, and the Democrats are opposing that, but that doesn't affect DACA. DACA doesn't need a big budget.

He is senile.

Was it in the 70ks that one of our slogans was bread not bombs. I don’t remember what president we started reductions of stockpiles, and pretty sure Russia was part of the agreement. Can’t think of the name of it my brain is failing me today..salt.? In 1984 the policy is to spend massive amounts of money on weapons, wasting as much as they can and then say they can’t afford to help the people. Orwell wrote other books on politics fascism communism socialism. He saw a lot of these governments in action, how they got in place, and strong warnings on propaganda. Glad it’s having a revival. Wrote a paper in 1987 on it. Called it red flags for the future. Look at the party slogans:

WAR IS PEACE FREEDOM IS SLAVERY IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH" -George Orwell, 1984 ...

And he sure don't want to expand the number of voters to include people who have lived here all their lives. That would be democratic.

Don't control the House. Don't control the senate. Don't control the executive branch. Don't control the judiciary. Yet somehow, always available to blame for republican screw-ups. It's just remarkable.
