Eric Trump says the shutdown is 'a good thing for us, politically

Source: CNBC

Eric Trump, President Donald Trump's second eldest son, had a busy night on Saturday. In addition to filling in for his father at a high-dollar fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago, the president's private club in Palm Beach, Fla., the 34-year old also went on Fox News Channel's "Judge Jeanine," to defend the president's accomplishments.

Between accolades for his father, the younger Trump stumbled over a basic rule of politics: Never boast about how you will benefit politically from the misfortune of your constituents.

"I think it's a good thing for us," Eric Trump said of the government shutdown that was triggered at midnight on Friday by the failure of congressional negotiators and the Trump White House to reach a deal to fund the government. The public, Eric Trump said, would blame Democrats for the paralysis in Washington, and for the forced furlough of hundreds of thousands of federal employees, who would be sent home without pay.

How the hell is shutting down the gov. with hundreds of thousands of people not getting their pay, with facilities closed all over the country and no idea of when it will be fixed?

How can we just get rid of all of them?

to put them in a position to take the blame for this 'sh*tdown'.

That this was a calculated decision by the Dotard. That the Dotard didn't take into consideration that by rejecting the Dems proposal and forcing the 'sh*tdown' that in fact it was he that actually forced the furlough of hundreds of thousands of federal employees who would be sent home without pay - and he did it for political purposes.

the first female president, then Eeerie Eric will be next in line. How wonderful will that be?? We can rename the country Trumplandia, and have Russian rules apply to us. I NEVER thought I would see the day when this country was dumbed down this far. A low life Mafia wannabe in the WH, with his naked soft porn "supermodel" wife, and three adult "kids" who are incapable of shutting their ugly tRump mouths. There is not a single intelligent, ethical, respectable member in that entire family of dumb asses.

As stated on MSNBC today, the one thing Trump can possibly use as a selling point in the upcoming elections is economic improvement. Every day the shutdown continues, the status of the economy is worsened, thus doing harm to the one thing which might make it look like dad accomplished anything in his first year.

will ever accuse this gang of being able to think on their feet. They need classes in how not to say dumb things. Of course, in order for that to work they'd need classes in how other people think so they'd understand why you don't go around announcing to the world that you are benefiting from the misfortunes of others.
