Dem lawmaker: I'd consider funding for Trump's wall if that's a 'ransom' he wants

Source: The Hill

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 01/21/18 01:11 PM EST

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) said on Sunday that he would consider funding for President Trump's border wall if that's a "ransom" that the president wants in exchange for protecting recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

During an interview on MSNBC, Lieu talked about a sign he saw Saturday as people took to the streets in cities across the world for women’s marches.

“Let me tell you one of the greatest signs I saw in these amazing women's marches yesterday. It was a little child and she was holding a sign that said, 'Build the wall and our generation will tear it down,' ” he said.

“So, yes, I would consider funding for the wall if that's a ransom that Donald Trump wants.” Lieu added that “we have no idea what the president wants.”

And if it is built, it will be completely ineffective and piss off a lot of Texas landowners (who are Trump voters.)

A wall can always be torn down.
But Dreamers being forced out of the country will cause permanent damage.

Obama tried it for 8 years and it was 8 years of GOP obstruction.

They own Jello-O Donny and his crazy, erratic personality.

He was offered money for the wall in exchange for settling DACA. That's when the "shithole countries" debacle occurred and 45 killed the deal after previously saying he would sign that or "anything" put in front of him and that he would "take the heat". Schumer said today that Trump is not the dealmaker he purports to be and it's true: the way you make a deal is you negotiate and each side yields something to gain something. "Take it or leave it" is not a deal. "Do what we want" is not a deal.

part of me would like to see DACA healthy again whatever the cost... the cost though is an extremely expensive wall not needed or wanted by many... what bothers me most is that this is really not about border security as much as it is about racism, division of peoples and as the author of this article states: "This is just a monument to himself (Trump)" ...that disgusts me...
