Rob Porter isn't the first reported abuser White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has defended

Source: Vox

In 2016, Kelly defended a Marine convicted of sexual misconduct — who was arrested again in 2017 for “indecent liberties” with children.

New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Peter Baker dug up another example of White House Chief of Staff John Kelly praising a man accused of serious allegations of misconduct involving multiple women.

This week, Kelly defended staff secretary Rob Porter — even speaking to his character, calling him a “man of true integrity and honor” — after credible allegations of domestic violence made by Porter’s former wives became public. Kelly now finds himself under fire for keeping Porter on for so long, and for giving him increasing responsibility despite an ongoing FBI investigation into his behavior.

Back in 2016, Kelly did something similar. He appeared as a character witness for a former Marine colonel charged with sexually harassing a female subordinate. The colonel even went so far as to ask the woman to destroy evidence of their communications and was also charged with driving drunk to his own arraignment hearing.

That Marine colonel, Todd Shane Tomko, was the former commander of the Marines’ Wounded Warrior Regiment, but according to his defense attorney and to Chief of Staff Kelly and other character witnesses at his court-martial, he had spiraled rapidly as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder.

The things he said about the Congresswoman were all the types of things abusers say to demean the women in their lives. And his speaking of how women used to be regarded back in the day. I lived back then and knew exactly what he meant. Men owned their wives and the laws reflected that ownership. My father would never think to lay a hand on my mother but when a friend was beating his wife in front of us and I said "daddy, why don't you stop him?" His answer was "That is his wife and he is allowed to hit her. If I interfere, I am the one in the wrong". And that is exactly how it was.

we might never have known that Kelly was a total POS, had it not been for Dump. He could have ridden into the sunset with his rep intact, but he couldn't pass up the opportunity to imprint the WH with his own personal biases. And like everyone who gets too close to Dump, he's burnt to a crisp. Devine justice.

Kelly is contaminated and about to circle the drain a final time.

Good riddance to him and the rest of the swamp mob who 'll soon follow.
