Schiff: Trump doesn't want to release Dem memo because it 'undermines his claim of vindication'

Source: The Hill

BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 02/11/18 11:28 AM EST

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Sunday said President Trump doesn’t want the public to see the “underlying facts” in the Democratic counter-memo because they would undercut his “claim of vindication” in the Russia probe.

“The president doesn’t want you to see these facts from the FISA application because it completely undermines his claim of vindication,” Schiff told CBS’s “Face the Nation,” referring to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court application used to obtain a warrant to spy on a former Trump campaign aide.

Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said he plans to work with the FBI to redact necessary information from the Democratic memo, which rebuts a document drafted by staff of the panel's Republican chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.).

The White House late last week blocked the release of the Democrats’ memo after previously allowing the Nunes memo, which alleged surveillance abuses at the Justice Department, to be made public.

Sadly, it works with his base and to salve his own ego.
Schiff is still standing tall in spite of having to wade through never-ending bullshit every day. We need more just like him.

I wonder if he ever would have run for Congress if he'd known he'd be dealing with this stuff day after day.

It's obvious to anyone but a complete, irredeemable moron what is going on here.

The Republicans in our Federal government are like the laziest, most worthless troublemakers you knew in the seventh grade. And they think they're being so clever with their little games to try to get out of trouble--games that don't fool anyone other than those just as stupid and lazy as they are.

And the press just let's this go on, like it's really a thing. Like there's really any controversy about any of this.

Impeach the motherfucker already.

rules at their Party's peril. Nunes released his bullshit memo against the Intel Community's objections and the world didn't come to an end. The GOP has people without Security Clearances giving Security Briefings to the Dotard. The Dems need to stop playing by the rules when the other party keeps saying, "We make the Rules".

The Democrats don't need Trump's approval to release the memo - they just need their committee to approve the release.

can't find the link right now as I don't have access to twitter at work.

is that 72% of Americans have no idea what 'vindication' means

We really so have to dumb it down for the masses

I'm sure they did.

But for historical records, it's important the letter is a part of the record, now.

45* is a COWARD. If he was a REAL MAN he'd release the memo, but he's a SCAREDY CAT, a CHICKEN LIVER.

Democrats need to start attacking his fake toughness, that'll certainly get under his skin.
