House Speaker Ryan: Florida shooting shouldn't threaten right to own guns
Source: Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan, in a round of interviews with conservative radio shows on Thursday, said the Florida school shooting that killed at least 17 people on Wednesday should not threaten citizens rights to own guns.
Theres more questions than answers at this stage, the Republican lawmaker said in an interview with Tom Katz on Indiana radio station WIBC about the mass shooting less than 24 hours earlier.
I dont think that means you then roll that conversation into taking away citizens rights - taking away a law-abiding citizens rights. Obviously this conversation typically goes there. Right now, I think we need to take a breath and collect the facts.

Unfortunately, the 17 people mowed down yesterday are unable to "take a breath."

(70,512 posts)Yes, God damn it now is the time to talk about "the guns."
Even before the Florida shooting we in central OH are still a hot mess
after 2 brave cops were ambushed and killed last weekend as they went
to save a women from domestic abuse.
3 days ago I went and paid my respects as two local policeman's bodies were taken from ....
..... the county morgue to their hometown. They died after being ambushed trying to
save a women in a domestic abuse case.
I felt like crap after watching the funeral procession. It was like a deep fog of sadness.
I never want to hear about how we need a good person w/a gun to stop a bad
person w/a gun again. In Westerville, OH we had two really good persons w/guns
and still they died.
I also never want to hear ever again the following:
thoughts and prayers
a moment of silence for the victims
it is too soon to talk about gun laws
*******
It is the guns end of story.

(22,756 posts)What would a public health approach look like for guns if it were modeled after cars?
It would include:
Background Checks
22 percent of guns are obtained without one
Protection Orders
Keep men subject to domestic violence protection orders from having guns
Ban Under-21s
A ban on people under 21 purchasing firearms (this is already the case in many states)
Safe Storage
These include trigger locks and guns and ammunition stored separately, especially when children are in the house
Straw Purchases
Tighter enforcement of laws on straw purchases of weapons, and some limits on how many guns can be purchased in a month
Ammunition Checks
background check for anybody buying ammunition.
End Immunity
End immunity for firearm companies. Thats a subsidy to a particular industry
Ban Bump Stocks
A ban on bump stocks of the kind used in Las Vegas to mimic automatic weapon fire
Research Smart Guns
Smart guns fire only after a fingerprint or PIN is entered, or if used near a particular bracelet.

(24,703 posts)you, yes you and your support for the AR-15 assault rifle and the manufacturer and the NRA.
Have seventeen bodies laying in the morgue, they are laying on a stainless steel table, they have a rubber block under their individual heads, they have a toe tag on one of their feet, used for identification.
You, then have a mortician standing over the body signing a death certificate to release the body to a grieving parent and on the death certificate is the cause of death, a fucking gun and fucking .222 round high velocity bullet killing the individual that was alive a short time ago, that is given to them so that they can bury their child ----------------------
Have you ever fucking thought what your eighteen years in Congress taking over 171,977 dollars from the NRA and your mental instability, have you ever really thought about it, or was it just for the money to say the Bull shit you said on your form of legal genocide happening in the schools and the streets with a fucking gun-----today and yesterday
18 year @ $171,977 dollars = $3,095,586 Dollars in bribe money
And you have the Paul "ayn rand" Ryan balls to say:
"Theres more questions than answers at this stage, the Republican lawmaker said in an interview with Tom Katz on Indiana radio station WIBC about the mass shooting less than 24 hours earlier.

WRONG answer asshole....................you had people in school that had rights, before they were murdered, they don't have anymore rights, they are dead, and no one can turn to you for help, because you will not give it..................
You are one sick motherfucker
