Trade war fears: Stocks drop sharply at the open

.
The Dow dropped more than 350 points at the open on Friday after shedding 420 points on Thursday. The Nasdaq sank 1%, and the S&P 500 declined almost 1%.

The sell-off began after Trump announced that his administration would impose a 25% tariff on steel imports and a 10% tariff on aluminum. It was not immediately clear whether some countries would be excluded from the tariffs.

"Markets hate uncertainty, and we still don't know exactly who and by how much these tariffs will impact trade," said Ryan Detrick, chief senior market strategist at LPL Financial.

on the Short sellers of the market and individual stocks that any idiot would know would drop after an announcement like tRUMP tariffs? Hope people write to the SEC, DOJ whomever. There's NO way that tRUMP didn't tip off his swamp things during his bed time late night phone calls....that no one knows about.

DT to Swamp thing:

"Hey, I'm gonna impose tariffs on these commodities tomorrow"

Swamp thing:

Really? I agree Mr. Very Smart, Genius.
But, can you hold off for a few hours as I have to call my broker?

DT:
Sure, I have to call Donnie Jr and tell him too.

Before the tariff announcement. That is insider trading. Strip Icahn of all assets and dump him in the nearest toxic waste vat.

the orange asshole set it up first by announcing the next day he was going to impose tariffs. Signalling to his asshole rich buddies to sell short.

then the next day he does it.

it's not insider trading for sure but damn well appears as if he's manipulating the market.
