Trump: North Korea breakthrough 'would be a great thing for the world'

Source: The Hill

BY JORDAN FABIAN - 03/06/18 02:54 PM EST

President Trump on Tuesday expressed cautious optimism about a possible diplomatic breakthrough with North Korea, saying it “would be a great thing for the world.”

"We have come certainly a long way, at least rhetorically, with North Korea,” Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.

“It would be a great thing for the world, it would be a great thing for North Korea, it would be a great thing for the peninsula. But we’ll see what happens,” the president added.

The president was addressing North Korea’s promise to stop testing nuclear missiles if the U.S. agrees to talks, a pledge that was relayed through the South Korean government.

to the global network of strongmen. With Putin providing contraband to N. Korea from Russian ships offshore (including parts to make N. Korea's missiles), Kim is now well-positioned to assert himself as a legit strongman. This is all Kabuki theater. Now Trump will claim he was the one who brought about this sudden breakthrough.

This whole North Korea thing is more propaganda being used to divert attention and make the dumpster look like he is diminishing a world threat. On Friday, Richard Engel reported that the Russians likely supplied retired rocket engines to NK for their ICBMs. Likely, many will forget about Russia and praise the dumpster. They are playing us like a fiddle.
