House Intel Republican says panel did not investigate collusion
Source: The Hill
Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) said Sunday the House Intelligence Committee was not tasked with investigating collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, despite the committee issuing a report last week stating it found no evidence of collusion in the 2016 election.
Our committee was not charged with answering the collusion idea, Conaway said on NBC's Meet The Press.
"So we really werent focused on that direction."
Conaway led the committees probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election after the committee's chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes, (R-Calif.) recused himself.

(7,715 posts)That's exactly what "smart" Repubs were trying to do - not find information.
Thankfully, for the good of the nation, that's not working anymore.

(14,173 posts)If they were adamant that Trump's business dealings were not on the table to investigate
And they were not investigating collusion
And all the intelligence agencies conclusion that there was Russian interference has been mostly agreed to by House Republicans, so there is no verdict to reach on that question....
....then what was their pretense for an investigation in the first place?
