Parkland, Fla., high school shooting survivor David Hogg said Thursday that he will only accept an apology from Fox News host Laura Ingraham for mocking him over college rejections if she denounced her network's coverage of the Parkland students pushing for gun control.

Four companies TripAdvisor, Wayfair, Expedia and pet food brand Nutrish pulled their ads from Ingrahams show on Thursday.
Hogg told The New York Times that he wasnt impressed by the Fox News hosts apology. She only apologized after we went after her advertisers. It kind of speaks for itself, Hogg said.
Hogg told the Times that it was extremely frustrating for Ingraham to personally target him over the college rejections, even as hes grown used to harsh criticism.

(14,173 posts)I think a better response would be...If you are truly sorry, then at least give us your reason why you are apologizing. When we hear your more detailed explanation why you went 180, we will decide if we then accept your apology.
Because that way she would be cornered into not taking him up on it and thus exposed for the fake she is, or be forced to give her reason(s) of why she did it in the first place. Reasons, ...not just an apology for him 'taking it the wrong way'. Tell him, and us, exactly why she was so moved to respond to him in the first place. In what way did she want him to 'take it'?
Of course there would be no good reason other than a cruel childish act. Yes, childish. That is how I see almost every Fox News host, and Trump and anyone he thinks would be a good advisor.

Or as I would say.. the BALLS! to say it like it really, really is.
Some do, but not enough, in my view, anyway....

I am so proud of these young adults and will overlook grammar, spelling, punct., etc. More power to THEM!
Go to one of their town halls and support gun control...RESIST!
March For Our Lives TOWN HALLS April 7th.
The students and communities who support stricter gun legislation are encouraging citizens to call and arrange town halls in your district on April 7th (before they head back to DC). They organized a site with help from Town Hall Project (Town Hall For Our Lives).
These young people are getting people registered to vote and are going through the legislative process for change and on April 7, theyre calling for every member of Congress to hold a town hall.

If your local legislator refuses to come for whatever reason, simply invite their opponent, Hogg told us. It's as simple as that.

https://townhallproject.com/#about
Town Hall Project empowers constituents across the country to have face-to-face conversations with their elected representatives. We are campaign veterans and first time volunteers. We come from a diversity of backgrounds and live across the country. We share progressive values and believe strongly in civic engagement. We research every district and state for public events with members of Congress. Then we share our findings to promote participation in the democratic process.
This movement is diverse, open source, and powered by citizens. We are proud to be a part of it.

(17,195 posts)... he uses "only" twice in one sentence, which makes me cringe more. "Between you and I" (and similar misuse of the personal pronoun) is, I am advised, very common in the South, so much so that even English teachers use it.

I have SUCH a hard time setting my Most Despised list in any kind of permanent order. It has become very situational.

(2,690 posts)I haven't saved any of Trump's infantile prattling, but someone has, I am sure, and they represent a treasure trove of grammatical infelicities. If any NRA member ever attacked a "libtard" with an ungrammatical tweet, well, that's good stuff to use, as well.
So I await with pleasure young Mr. Hogg's combat with right-wing nit-pickers.
