Ryan Poised to Earn Millions Even If He Sheds 'Weekend Dad' RoleThis discussion thread was locked as off-topic by muriel_volestrangler (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum). Ryan Poised to Earn Millions Even If He Sheds 'Weekend Dad' Role Bloomberg Jeff Green, John McCormick and Bill Allison 8 hrs ago Paul Ryan will easily add to his already considerable net worth if he opts to stray from his native Wisconsin to join a corporate board or dabble in Washington power struggles when he retires next year as speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. "The kind of board that he would go after would probably pay between $250,000 and $300,000 a year and he could probably get three or four of them," said Fred Foulkes, a professor of at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. "There would be dozens that would like to have him, particularly companies that have part of their business in key relationships with certain parts of government." - Ryan, 48, who said he was retiring to be more than a "weekend dad," could easily follow the path of previous congressional leaders, including Newt Gingrich and Richard Gephardt, who became corporate directors. Former Speaker John Boehner, his immediate predecessor, recently joined the advisory board for U.S. cannabis producer Acreage Holdings and is already serving on the board of Arizona Mining Inc. and the advisory board to JBS USA, the American arm of a Brazilian food giant. That’s in addition to being a senior strategic adviser at the law firm of Squire Patton Boggs LLP. - From Capitol to Capital A Bloomberg analysis before that election showed that among directors who had previously served in Congress there were 31 Democrats and 33 Republicans, with the average pay more than $330,000. Ryan will no longer be making his speaker’s salary of $223,500, but he will be eligible for a pension in a few years, and has an estimated net worth of slightly more than $6 million, according to a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of his 2016 financial filings. AshLee Strong, a Ryan spokeswoman, didn’t respond to an email seeking comment on her boss’ potential future employment. - Read more: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/ryan-poised-to-earn-millions-even-if-he-sheds-weekend-dad-role/ar-AAvNx5W?li=BBnbfcL

6. Read several of Ryan's personnal comments
he made about that time frame. He is one sick piece of work. He sure fooled all those suckers in Janesville.
Never had to repay the Wisconsin State College system for his Free Full Ride Education did he. But,he sure as hell made it harder for Kids in his same predicament to obtain the same Social Security Survivors Benefits by cutting funding for Personnel Hiring at Social Security, and by not raising the income caps in order to protect future recipients in the same situations. Typical Ayn Rand idol, I got mine F----You. This is the DU member formerly known as Wellstone ruled.

7. So if you know this about him, and you still vote for him, then one would
think that means you/they would also want to take benefits and then deny them to others.
So if you say YOU deserve the benefits but these folks over here dont, what is that? We know what it is, dont we. Truth is the real nasty ones like this one, this pile of shit, would also take benefits from white people if they fit into that category or stereotype of trailer park type folks. Which is WRONG , those folks for the most part are very dumb, they vote for the politicians who want to kill them, but I dont blame them, a little education and exposure to the outside world could do wonders. |

3. Look at Denny Hastert
Paid out millions to his victims and was a high school teacher and coach before Congress, made me wonder how he got all his money too. The whole place is corrupt.

5. Oh, please!
He got rich by being bankrolled by the Koch brothers, and then the Russians. He maintains a house in Janesvbille, but (supposedly) cuts corners by sleeping in his office. Toady, bootlicking scumbag.

9. Locking - the hosts feel this is analysis and opinion, rather than a breaking news story
It's speculation and guesses about what he might get. Please repost in GD. Thanks.
