James Comey: John Kelly Called Trump Dishonorable for Firing Me
Source: The Daily Beast
Within minutes of his firing in May, former FBI Director James Comey received a call from John Kelly, then the head of the Department of Homeland Security and now the White House chief of staff.
According to Comeys account, which is set to appear in his highly anticipated forthcoming memoir, Kelly was emotional over the manner in which Comey was let go. The then-FBI director was in California at the time, speaking to FBI agents in Los Angeles, and only found out that he was out of a job when he saw the news break on TV.
Kelly, Comey recalls, said he was sick about the situation and intended to quit in protest. Kelly said he didnt want to work for dishonorable people, referring specifically to President Donald Trump, who appeared to be upset at the FBIs persistent investigation into his campaigns possible collusion with Russian officials.
According to sources, Comey writes in his book that he encouraged Kelly to remain in his post, saying this president, more than his predecessors, needed people of principle and integrity around him.

(8,200 posts)Regardless of Comey's concern for the nation, Kelly's staying provides support and tacit approval for one of the worst presidents to be elected. I cannot fathom how a man committed to service to his country could provide any support for Trump. Trump is a disgraceful immoral scum bag and desecrates the very office of the presidency. This man has demonstrated through his entire life to be an absolutely unredeemable plight on the earth. His very presence pollutes every thing he touches and every unsuspecting soul that he has encountered is an unfortunate of having met an imp from the depths of hell.

(3,115 posts)Enabling an anger-fueled blithering idiot. And he's not stopping anything said idiot is doing, so what's the point? Previous chiefs of staff were listened to by presidents. Dumpster listens to no one except his "lawyers" when it's time to weasel out of something.

(15,543 posts)I mean, there's nothing to debate. Which side are you on, Kelly? I guess you've made your choice to go to your knees for the ignoble republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief.
