Trump challenges Native Americans' historical standing

Source: Politico

The Trump administration says Native Americans might need to get a job if they want to keep their health care — a policy that tribal leaders say will threaten access to care and reverse centuries-old protections.

Tribal leaders want an exemption from new Medicaid work rules being introduced in several states, and they say there are precedents for health care exceptions. Native Americans don’t have to pay penalties for not having health coverage under Obamacare’s individual mandate, for instance.

But the Trump administration contends the tribes are a race rather than separate governments, and exempting them from Medicaid work rules — which have been approved in three states and are being sought by at least 10 others — would be illegal preferential treatment. “HHS believes that such an exemption would raise constitutional and federal civil rights law concerns,” according to a review by administration lawyers.

The Health and Human Services Department confirmed it rebuffed the tribes’ request on the Medicaid rules several times. Seema Verma, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, conveyed the decision in January, and officials communicated it most recently at a meeting with the tribes last week. HHS’ ruling was driven by political appointees in the general counsel and civil rights offices, say three individuals with knowledge of the decision.

Or listened to any "lawyer" besides Cohen? There are legally binding treaties in place to handle just such matters. And if the U.S. government ever paid the tribes what they owe them, they could probably afford their own healthcare. Tons of lawyers will be happy to take this case on.

Every time you think the tRump can't get any more dispicable, he takes a step lower.

Evil people will do what Evil People do... Trump loves money as his God, and thus so, Evil is his ways when his lust is for money and he has no concern for history, traditional policies nor the American people.

America people not only continue to allow this evil to persist, it keeps trying to make allowances for it, and then tries to normalize it. Everyday, Trump remains in the Whitehouse, demonstrates the weakness of the America People and shows how much we allow evil to spread within this nation. His presence does not speak well of what is American, nor does the world see us as they once saw us, because they see us allowing this madness to continue.

In decades earlier those who support what is America would have never allowed him to enter the Whitehouse and they certainly would have removed him by any means necessary.

It's sad, this nation took away JFK, because he wanted to end segregation and not escalate war in the Asian Pacific and would not invade Cuba,....

We allow the vile of Trump to persist, a bigoted racist greed monster, who would love to recreate segregation, but not just racially, but he wants economic segregation too!!!! With the wealthy controlling this nation. He destroyed our international relations and does not have ambassadors, except to place those people whom he thinks will support Confederate Ideal.... and spread dissension with hopes to weaken NATO and the UN. And we are such a weak people in this era, we allow it... We've allowed him to insult every aspect of our Justice system and every other aspect of our governance system, and still we do nothing. but crack a joke, and push a little sarcasm.... and he continues his madness without any concern for anything but his aspirations to be a dictator.

Do you believe that would actually provide them with the compassion that his entire crew seem to lack! Most of his people are white, with a few exceptions of tokens in HUD, HHS and the FCC!

The head of HHS is of Eastern Indian ancestry and a woman...the reason she has her position today is because others that came before sacrificed...but for a token that sacrifice means nothing as long as they can still kiss the feet of a white man like Trump...and that goes for Carson at HUD and Pai at the FCC!!!

It does not matter what he has to cut that benefits any group in America... he is HELL BENT on pushing anything that will support the continuing of the tax cuts.

We can't be of selective amnesia... this is a man who fleeced cities for tax concessions and fleeced the IRS to the tune of over $800-900+ Million in a SINGLE YEAR... So, why would anyone have a remote thought that he supports paying taxes, and he and the wealthy DETEST any penny of tax payer money going in to helping to support the same America people, who contributed to their gains of wealth.

They are EVIL SELFISH MONEY CONSUMED GLUTTONS... they know nothing beyond that, because it is only by the publicity of having amassed money, that they are even acknowledge in our society. They remain the "low life's of American soicety" and the truth is ... no amount of money can wash away the character of a low life... From the gaudy faux gold of his home, trying to make it look like something out of an Eastern European Dictator Palace by its style and design. Only the uneducated and those of a Serf mentality would think such as being of any class... the rest of society see's it as the gaudy imagery it depicts. ( Its as bad as if someone moved to Beverly Hill's and placed some of those fake pink flamingo's in the yard)

Even his daughter walked around with that non fluid physical presentation, speaking with the tonality of a parlor girl, as if trying to make a parlor connection, while looking like a ice princess with no semblance of potential of having any feminine passion. It likely was no mistake that Kushner checked "female" on various application... but the public seems to have missed that. She had the audacity to sit on the stage in Germany with women who earned their respect by their long service to public concerns, while she'd done nothing but been repeatedly accused of copying other designers work and pushing her "foreign made products" as if they were on par with the honest designer's community products.... and then turn to the low life character presentation with no sense of this level of political decorum and come out on the Whitehouse lawn in a thigh high pre teen girls dress.... and struts across the lawn fully unaware of the lack of dignity at this level of governance her image presented. Even Hope Hicks, who took the role as a stage to push an image as if she thought she was still "modeling", and then attend an event looking like a playboy bunny at one of the playboy mansion's party scene. When Republican had a hissy fit when Michelle wore dresses without sleeves. Yet, they sit silent!!!

We've sank so low, and sadly too many has made it acceptable by their silence and seeming unawareness to discern what is truly Presidential Decorum.

We allow this buffoon to waste Tax Payer Money, flying to HIS HOTEL... and then pushing some delusion as if its some Southern Whitehouse, while we get strapped to pay for security for this madness.

Then don't forget about the two boys, Its something about them, that they simply don't look to fit within society... and the one with the square head, has been busted disrespecting his wife, by cheating, while the White Right Wing Evangelical's sit silent and have not said a word....

We've see nothing but a stream of crooks and criminals cycled into the Whitehouse, while Trump plays his Reality TV game of "you're fired"... because that's his highlight of his life... based on a show, that was about nothing more than "denigrating has been stars of a previous decade who had fallen on financial hard times and their character playing careers were no longer viable "... It was a show... where the right wingers who watched it, wallowed in the overt "denigration" of people they rallied behind as start entertainers only a decade or so ago.

We as America sank to a devastating low, and how we allow it to continue is an Atrocity..... Our ancestors would have taken "ANY" measure to never have allowed this, and America's Ancestors certainly would have taken no act off the table in how to get rid of it. The only reason he is still there... is because the Confederate Idealist, think they can resurrect the ideals of a Confederate system upon the nation of America. Liberals are waiting on a legal solution... to not only remove this mess, but all the vile members he has placed in positions.

It's getting harder for him to find things he can do or say that are truly appalling. Even the most vigilant and vigorous observeropponent is becoming numb to the daily onslaught, I bet.

A very bad part of that paradigm is that, at any given moment, it's hard to tell if that effect is working on oneself.
